Irene's mother died shortly after Irene was born, and her father is a navy seal, so she hardly ever sees him at all. This left her to live under the care of her 24 year old brother (you can pick the oc and their name). Make sure you include all the downfalls and sad times of her not seeing her dad for about a year or two at a time.
Irene lives next door to the Wheeler's and often participates in the party's games of dnd.
Irene has good grades in school, straight A's, and is on the girl's basketball and track team (see what I did there?;) ).
There should be one or two times where she's preparing for her father to come home, before something comes up and she is flushed with disappointment. Also make sure you add at least one time where her dad is able to come, and make sure it's really emotional.
Irene used to be Nancy Wheeler's best friend, before she started dating 'King Steve' and Irene felt herself overcome with jealousy and sadness once Nancy started shutting her out and cancelling their plans.
When Will Byers and Barbara Holland go missing, Irene and Nancy reconnect in order stop whatever force is responsible for their disappearances.
Irene finds all her old feelings for Nancy Wheeler come flooding back, and decides to confess her feelings for her on Christmas, only to find Nancy with Steve Harrington, and Irene feels the familiarities of the situation, for this is exactly what happened the last time she tried to confess her feelings for the girl.
In season 2, Irene was at the Halloween party, and almost drunkingly admitted her feelings for Nancy, before Jonathan stopped her, and took her and Nancy home.

Irene works at the movie theater at Starcourt Mall, and assists in sneaking in the party.

In the season 5 finale, there should be something big. Like her brother decides to go to college and do something for himself, which she completely supports. She tells him not to worry about her, and that he's spent plenty of years taking care of her, and that now he take care of himself and do what he wants. She experiences living on her own, or you could have Nancy live with her since they would've been dating for around 4 years by then and they would be around 20 years old if you wanted too.
