summary

In which a girl with multiple medical issues becomes attached to the hard-headed loser

plot

When she was 6 years old, Meagan couldn't attend public school. She was always getting sickness after sickness and it became bad enough that her mother had no other choice but to homeschool her. Her daughter visits became more and more frequent, until she finally began to get better at 11 years old. She walked away with asthma and small frequency of seizures.

Multiple things could set off her seizures. Loud noises, jump scares, panic attacks, the possibilities seemed endless, and her horrible anxiety didn't do anything to help. She was often left alone due to her parents going to work two hours after she got out if school, and returning two hours before she woke up. She would often worry herself with small noises she heard in her house. Such as creaking floor boards, tree branches hitting her window, and the dripping faucet. She would occasionally scare herself enough for tears to stream down her face, as her hands pressed against her ears, desperate to block out the sound.

She met Lucas, Dustin, Mike, and Will when she resumed attending public schools in the last half of 5th grade. Her and Lucas became close friends, and over time she found herself developing a crush on the boy as well.

Everything was finally going okay for the girl. She hadn't had a seizure in a year, her anxiety seemed to be getting better, and she had 4 friends that were there to help her when she needed it. But now everything changes when Will goes missing, a strange girl appears in the woods, and they were forces to battle a monster from their favorite board game.

~The boys constantly checking on her when anything unexpected happens, especially Lucas.

~Lucas secret carrying an extra inhaler with him at all times in case Meagan loses hers

~Lucas helping Meagan whenever she has an anxiety attack

~Meagan being excited about having another girl tagging along with them, but also skeptical about her showing up out of the blue

~Joyce being really sweet to Meagan and always making sure she's know she can come to them if she ever needs anything

~she should have at least 2 or 3 seizures within the whole series, including the seasons that are yet to come. (You came give her up to 4 if you want but any more than that feels like your pushing it.)

~She should actually lose her inhaler at some point in season 1 (maybe after El disappears with the demogorgan) and Lucas just calmly takes the one he has out of his back pack and gives it to her

~all 4 boys should shoot Meagan worried glances on Halloween after Max scares, but Lucas should stay by her side after it to make sure she's okay

~Lucas kissing her at the snowball after asking her to dance, and asks her to go out with him, to which she obviously says yes to.

(The name Meagan is a name of Greek origin that means 'strong', and I feel like there should be a moment where Max mentions that her name to which she says that it's Greek and says something along the lines of 'My mom picked it because she wanted her daughter to grow up a strong, powerful woman, but I'm just a fragile girl with too many medical issues' to which Max says something like 'I think the name suits you' in response)
