Sams POV

Thea and I were sitting on the couch in her living room when Mrs. Queen walked in, "Thea can you please remind your brother to pick me up for lunch? I've left him five messages." She sighs.

"Yeah." Thea said picking up her phone. "Hi. Mom said to remind you to pick her up for lunch." There was a pause. "She said she left you five messages. Just bite the bullet and have a Cobb salad with the woman." Another pause. "And he hung up on me. Great."

Later that evening we got a call that Mrs. Queen had been shot at. Thea wanted me there as moral support. Although I felt like it was a family thing and didn't want to go, Thea was able to convince me. By the time we got there Oliver was just walking in Mrs. Queens room. "Hey. Are you okay?" He asks her.

"I'm fine." Mrs. Queen responds. When Oliver shoots her a look of disbelief she restates. "I'm fine. Did you reach Walter?"

"No. I'm sorry." Thea responds.

Then the doctor started talking, "As I was telling your mother the CAT Scan showed a grade two concussion. She can go home so long as someone stays with her just to make sure there are no after effects."

"Thank you." Oliver thanks him. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you. I thought you were fine."

"What did you think you were doing anyway?" Mrs. Queen questions.

"Yeah, I wanted to get the license plate of the guy who took a shot at you."

"Well that was foolish."

"Yeah." Oliver agrees before hugging his mother.

Once we walk out Thea asks her brother, "So did you get the license plate?"

"No. He got away." Oliver responds.

"Maybe you should spend a little less time trying to be a hero. You're obviously not very good at it." Thea states.

"Thea." I whisper scoldingly. "You know I would've done the same thing if it was my father."

Oliver sends me a grateful look before responding to his sister, "That's cute, Thea"

"I wasn't trying to be." Thea says ignoring me. "You left mom on the street alone and hurt. In the street." She scoffs. "To get a license plate?"

Oliver steps closer to Thea. "You don't believe me?"

"I love you. Mom loves you. I'm sure Sam will love you with time." She pauses before continuing. "But its getting hard when you won't be truthful with us." She then walks back into Mrs. Queens room.

"Oliver. I know I stuck up for you in saying I would do the same thing with the license plate, but..." I pause as he raises an eyebrow at me. "Look. Its not any of my business, but if you're gonna lie to your family, get better at it." I then turn around and greet Mrs. Queen in her room with a smile. Oliver didn't come back in so I assume he left. Eventually Detective Lance and his partner come in to get Mrs. Queens side of the story.
