Sam's POV
I came back to Star City from visiting Barry, after getting a newsletter about a bombing. I had forced Felicity to stay with Barry, so at least one of us could be there, hence why it's just me.
As I walk into Oliver's office, I hear Dig say something about the bomb residue being with the SCPD. "Fortunately, we have an in with on of the officers at the department." I state causing them to turn me.
"I thought you were staying in Central City for a few more days." Oliver says.
"I got a newsletter about the bombing. I caught the first train back after forcing Felicity to stay." I explain.
"Good. We need you here." Oliver tells me, I give him a smile before he asks, "How's Barry?"
"Ah, he's still sleeping. I prefer sleeping to coma 'cause coma sounds, you know..." I trail off. "not fun. I'll reach out to Detective Lance."
Later, in the Arrowcave, Oliver was meeting up with Lance as the Arrow, when he says through the comms, "He's hit again."
"Starling City municipal building." Dig informs.
"Give me a location." Oliver states.
"I'll give you one better. I'm checking the surrounding cell towers." I tell him doing just that. "There's a GSM spike of 3,800 megahertz two seconds before the blast. That frequency's way outside the approved frequency for US carriers. Signals moving. I think he's mobile."
"Give me an intersection."
"God, this is weird without Lic." I mutter before answering Oliver. "Right in front of you, 400 meters."
"I see him." Oliver states.
"Turn left on 67th." I tell him, he does what I say, continuing to follow the guy.
"Sam, I've lost him." He tells me a few minutes later.
"What?" I ask confused, before seeing I've lost him too. "Me too, hold on. Got him. Bank left on Gerrard Street. You're almost right on top of him."
"That's not him, Sam. You picked up the wrong signal." Oliver responds.
"What? I thought-" I cut myself off. "He must have, he must have scrambled the signal."
"It doesn't matter. He's gone." Oliver says causing me to think, do I even deserve to be on this team? Without Felicity, I'm useless.
Oliver walks in asking, "What happened?"
So, I tell him what I know, "He's using cellular technology to detonate his bombs. Clearly, His expertise extends to obscuring that signal.
"Sam, your expertise was supposed to trump his." Oliver states,
"Believe me Oliver, I know." I tell him standing up. "Okay, I get I screwed up, like normal, but please, stop telling me things I should already know."
"Well, maybe if you would get your head out of Central City, you wouldn't have screwed up." Oliver states.
Alright, now I'm just annoyed. "Right after you get yours out of your ass." I retort.
"Excuse me?" He asks.
"Alright." Dig interjects. "Maybe we should take a deep breath here."
"No, wait, I wanna know, what exactly was that crack about Central City meant to imply?" I ask Oliver.
"When the first bomb went off, you weren't here. And when the second bomb went off, you sent me the wrong way." Oliver explains.
"After you didn't catch him in the first place." I state.
