Sams POV

Thea and I were looking at different colored cars on her couch when she asked, "Tahitian green or midnight black? What do you think?"

"I think that you shouldn't look at cars unless you know you're getting one." I say.

"And I think that you've been dropping hints all week." Oliver answers. "And mom still isn't buying you a car for your birthday."

"I could not have said it better myself." Mrs. Queen says coming in the living room.

"Oliver got a car when he turned 18." Thea complains.

"Yeah, but I could back it out of the driveway without hitting a tree." Oliver says making me laugh.

"Oh, that's true, but I do remember you taking the paint off the side of your dad's Maserati." Tommy says coming in.

"Yeah, the party planner's waiting." Mrs. Queen says getting ready to leave. "Sorry to run off like this."

"Don't we have a convertible to go buy?" Thea asks getting off the couch making me follow her.

"Good luck." Oliver says at Mrs. Queen, Thea and I leave. Thea wanted my help planning so of course I am helping.

Later on in the Queens car, "I think you've tried on every dress in the city." Mrs. Queen says.

"Totally worth it." Thea says. "Everyone's gonna freak. Plus I got to force Sam to dress up."

"Yes, well, if your father were still alive, he'd freak too." Mrs. Queen says. "Though in an entirely different way."

"Like when he saw what I was wearing to my first boy-girl dance."

"That poor boy you went with. Oh, Robert scared him to death."

"You know, dad used to say his saddest day would be when I turned 18. Now he's gone and I'm the one that's sad." Thea says before Mrs. Queen's phone rings.

"I need to take this." She said looking at the caller ID. "Hello... Yes, I understand, but I'm with my daughter and her friend... Alright. I'll be there." She then hung up.

"I thought you said the three of us were gonna spend the whole day together." Thea says to her mother.

"Well now you and Sam can spend the whole day together."

"But-"

"I know, but... compliance needs to file the 8K connected to my assuming Walter's position at the company and they can't wait. I'm sorry."

I seed Thea looking sad so I reach over and give her hand a squeeze and a small smile to which she responds with a small, sad smile.

Thea had dragged me up to Oliver's room once we got back to the mansion.
