I hummed the chorus of Slipknot's "Wait and Bleed" playing on repeat in my mind—I was obsessed. I lingered in the kitchen, unsure of how to pass the time. Class B was also in our common room, and their conversations were painfully apparent.
I opened the fridge and immediately struck gold when I found a box with Bakugo's sloppy handwriting on it.
'Do not touch – I will kill you' I barely managed to read his horrid handwriting. A sigh escaped my lips as I opened the box anyway. Inside, heaven screamed at me: powdered donuts!
A smile grew like madness upon my pale face as I took the entire box out of the fridge and began eating every single one of those powdered donuts. When I finished, white powder clung to my dark clothes and hands. I tried my best to dust it off and placed the empty box back into the fridge.
I quickly closed the fridge and slinked away, taking a seat next to Uraraka and Shu.
"What the hell?!" I heard Bakugo scream from the kitchen. A loud bang silenced the entire building, and everyone's eyes snapped to the furious blond in confusion. "Who ate my powdered donuts?!"
Silence greeted him, but I saw his eyes scan over everyone's faces in search of guilt. When his eyes finally met mine, I saw him narrow his scalding eyes.
"Amara," Bakugo breathed. "What's that white powder all over your shirt?" My dark eyes peered down at my shirt to see traces of white powder still clinging to the material. A sigh escaped my lips.
"Oh, that? It's cocaine," I replied confidently. Bakugo retaliated by flinging the empty cardboard box at me. It moved too quickly for me to react and hit me right in the face.
"You're too poor to afford cocaine!" Bakugo roared as he began to run at me. I jumped off the couch just in time for him to trip over it and crumple to the ground with a thud.
"You don't know that!" I yelled at him as I dodged a pillow he angrily threw at me.
"Bakugo, that's enough!" Iida jumped in and stood between Bakugo and me. "You should've left a note so people like Amara would know not to eat it."
"I DID LEAVE A FUCKING NOTE!" Bakugo screeched as he pushed past Iida and began making his way toward me. I smelled the smoke of him, so I knew he was about to get rough. I channeled my electricity and zapped away from him within the blink of an eye.
Class A and Class B came together to stop what was about to unfold: the brawl of Bakugo and Amara. Except, I had no intention of kicking his ass today. I used my lightning to zip out of the building. Cold air greeted me as I peered up at the sky.
Snow clouds formed, looking as if snow was about to fall at any moment. I heard the horde of students behind me, so I decided to lead them astray, running laps around the entire campus until eventually they all left the dormitory in search of me.
I stopped back in front of the dorm. All life had left the building, which meant I could finally relax in peace. I ambled quietly towards the kitchen once more, rubbing my aching forehead. I waited for the coffee machine to turn on, my fingers interlaced with one of my favorite ceramic cups.
I was certain I was alone, so I began to sing the chorus of Slipknot's "Wait and Bleed" out loud in the kitchen. My head banged to the imaginary riffs and beats that played in my head. I felt my body begin to sway and dance to the imaginary tunes, using the mug as a makeshift microphone.
"I've felt the hate rise up in me, kneel down and—" my singing got cut short when I felt the world tumble beneath me at the sight of a certain pair of annoying purple eyes. I felt my face burn a deep red as I averted my gaze back to making coffee. "What do you want?" I snapped, irritation barely covering the embarrassment in my voice. I heard Shinso snicker before I heard him creep closer to me.
