So my grandparents are here for a little while, so updates might be staggered because I can only write in the mornings and at night :(

"Ah, Potter and his girlfriend!"

Third Person POV

Life at the Burrow was fun for both (Y/N) and Harry. Harry enjoyed the setting more, seeing as he didn't have to wake up to Uncle Vernon's typically grouchy attitude, or Aunt Petunia's uptightness.

(Y/N) enjoyed being able to spend time with the Weasleys. She stayed in Ginny's room, even though when Ginny first met (Y/N) she felt scared, Ginny started opening up. Ginny was happy to have another girl around to 'gossip' with. (Y/N) loved to hear about Ginny's little crush on Harry, she thought it was cute.

Mr. Weasley made it a point to sit next to Harry and (Y/N) at all meals so he could bombard us with questions about the Muggle world.

It was a week after we arrived at the Burrow when we heard from Hogwarts. Ron and Harry were just coming down the stairs, and saw (Y/N), Ginny, and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley already at the kitchen table.

The moment Harry walked into the room, Ginny accidentally knocked her porridge to the floor. She dived under the table to get her porridge, and (Y/N) tried to help her. When she emerged from the table Ginny was glowing red, while (Y/N) sat back down into her chair. Harry tried to pretend he didn't notice this.

"Letters from school," said Mr. Weasley, passing the letters around the table to the correct person it was addressed to. "Dumbledore already knows you two are here — doesn't miss a trick, that man. You two've got them, too," he added, when Fred and George tumbled in, still in their pajamas.

There was silence as they all read their letters. All the letters told everyone to catch the train to Hogwarts from King's Cross as usual. There was also the list attached for each person's books they'd need for the upcoming year.

(Y/N)'s read:

SECOND-YEAR STUDENTS WILL REQUIRE:
The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 2
by Miranda Goshawk
Break with a Banshee by Gilderoy Lockhart
Gadding with Ghouls by Gilderoy Lockhart
Holidays with Hags by Gilderoy Lockhart
Travels with Trolls by Gilderoy Lockhart
Voyages with Vampires by Gilderoy Lockhart
Wandering with Werewolves by Gilderoy Lockhart
Year with the Yeti by Gilderoy Lockhart

When Fred finished reading his list, he peered to look at (Y/N)'s list as well.

"You've been told to get all Lockhart's books, too!" he acknowledged. "The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher must be a fan — bet it's a witch."

When Fred caught his mother's eye, he quickly turned away and pretended to be busy with marmalade.

"That lot won't come cheap," said George, and glanced at his parents quickly. "Lockhart's books are really expensive...."

"Well, we'll manage," said Mrs. Weasley, but she did look worried. "I expect we'll be able to pick up a lot of Ginny's things secondhand."

"Oh, are you starting at Hogwarts this year?" Harry asked Ginny.

She nodded, and her face turned the same color as her hair. She elbowed a butter dish by accident. No one noticed this except for Harry.
