Darlene's POV:

"Ooo I like this one" Maya exclaims picking up a medium sized pumpkin before turning to towards the rest of us.

I squint my eyes, inspecting it. Surely I'm missing why she is so excited over this one.

"It looks square" Harry exclaims, tilting his head at it in confusion.

"I know!" She answers back in excitement, glancing back down to it briefly with a smile on her face.

"Well typically pumpkins are round" Niall points out in an obvious tone making Maya return to him with a 'no shit' look.

"Do none of you know the story of Spookley the Square Pumpkin?" She says in disbelief, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

Finally something clicks in my brain, "Oh wait, yeah I have. You just unlocked a deep memory" I say with a soft laugh. 

My parents always brought out that book during the fall time, I used to love it. But I haven't heard the story or that name since I was probably around the age of five.

"Wait that kind of sounds familiar" Harry says seeming to be deep in thought.

It's like a lightbulb goes off in Maya's head, and she's frantically shoving her pumpkin into Niall's hands and taking her phone out of her back pocket.

After a few seconds she flips her phone around, showing us the image of the book cover. Seeing the picture only causes even more nostalgic memories to flood back.

Niall and Harry both seem to be studying the image, looking like they're trying to sort through every childhood memory until they find the one that mentions this story.

"Oh! Wait" She exclaims flipping the phone around tapping on the screen quickly before turning it to us again, "There was also the movie" 

The cartoon version makes me let out a laugh, "Looks like my ex boyfriend" I state with a shake to my head causing Harry to turn his attention to me.

The word 'boyfriend' still shocks him no matter the context but I can see an ounce of jealousy behind his eyes. That wasn't my intention, I'm literally making fun of my ex.

"Well I think it looks like Liam, you know cause he's a square" He insults casually with a shrug, turning his attention back to the screen.

I can't hold in the laugh that escapes my lips making me smack my hand over my mouth as everyone turns their attention to me.

I clear my throat gaining my composure, "Not funny" I state trying to keep my voice humorless. Harry just smirks at my reaction but the interaction is cut short when Niall begins to speak,

"I'm gonna be honest sunshine, I've never heard of that story" Niall exclaims with a disappointed sigh

"Same, title kind of sounds familiar but I couldn't tell you one thing about it" Harry exclaims with his own defeated voice. They seem genuinely upset they aren't familiar with it, it's kind of cute if you ask me.

"Maybe it was only a popular story in America" Maya says shrugging before slipping her phone back into her pocket and retrieving her pumpkin from Niall, 

"But you making fun of this pumpkin just because he's different makes you no better than the antagonists of the story" 

"My deepest apologies" Niall says theatrically.
