Chapter 3 - Harley

Amusement Mile July 2nd 20:45
It was lashing rain and Harley was marching angrily towards the giant clown shaped building in torn and burnt clothing with one of her pigtails undone and her makeup running down her face. She had just escaped GCPD custody and Officers blood all over her mallet, as she approached the door two goons walked forward to help her but she did their heads in with the mallet and barged through the door.

"Harley" Joker exclaimed

"I'm going to kill you" Harley spat marching towards him

"Your not mad about that little incident are you?" Joker asked

"You left me to be captured and you saved her" Harley spat looking at Punchline

"Harley, Harley, Harley I knew you'd escape" Joker replied

"Puddin I've had enough your dead" Harley shouted

"No you don't" Punchline said hitting her in the stomach

Harley laughed it off before charging at her and swinging her mallet, Punchline dodged swing after swing until Harley finally got a good hit into the upper chest. Punchline fell backwards clenching her chest, Harley was about hit her across the head when the door of the building blew open and Robin and Huntress came running in.

"Great" Joker sighed

"Three clowns and two Bats, I like our odds" Damian said

"It looks like one is on our side" Helena said

"Kill them, clip the birds wings and hunt the huntress" Joker shouted

Damian ran into the group of charging goons in clown masks to get to The Joker while Helena ran at Harley and Punchline. Damian jumped in the air and began kicking the goons in the head before landing on the ground and began using the hilt of his sword to wind his attackers.

Helena was up at the two fighting clowns Harley changed her path of attack and started attacking Helena, Helena dodged each mallet strike before kneeing Harley in the stomach and then punched her in the face. While she watched Harley stumble backwards she felt a stinging in her side and turned to see one of Punchline's daggers in her side.

"You bitch" Helena spat

"Ohh I am, from where I'm standing you are" Punchline replied lunging at her

"Nice shot, but not good enough" Helena said knocking the second dagger from her hand

"My turn" Punchline exclaimed hitting Helena in the upper chest

Helena stumbled backwards but was then struck in the back by a mallet and fell to the ground. Harley held her mallet above her head

"She's mine" Harley screamed

"No you don't" Damian said tackling her to the ground

Helena began to get up and looked over to Damian who was now battling Harley, Joker was laughing and Punchline was walking towards her. Punchline went to kick Helena but she grabbed her ankle and pulled her to the ground

"Round two" Helena said spitting blood on the floor

"Give up now" Punchline said kicking her in the face

"Stop" Joker exclaimed

Helena looked over to see Harley on the floor rubbing her head, and Damian was in Jokers hold with a knife to his throat. Damian looked at Helena and gave her a smirk. Helena stood up as did Punchline.

"Now let's resolve this feud, I can Harley as a prisoner you go home and I get to kill a second boy wonder" Joker said

"But first, you grabbed the wrong sibling" Helena said

"What" Joker asked

In the moment Damian threw his head back hitting Joker in the chin and rolled forward and jumped at Punchline while Helena threw Batarangs at Joker before kicking him in the head. They tied up the three clowns and contacted the GCPD.

"Nice work" Helena said

"I know, you could use some practice" Damian said looking at the gash in her side

"What's Jon going to say about the bruising on your face" Helena asked

"I don't know" Damian laughed

They heard the sirens and walked outside

"Commissioner, Harley, Joker and Punchline are inside with a number of henchmen" Damian said

"You two look like shit, go home" Barbara said

"Yes ma'am" Helena said

The two grappled away as Barbara rolled her wheelchair into the building with some swat members.

"Ohh Barbara Gordon, still can't feel the legs. The man who did that must have been a genius" Joker laughed

"Get them out of here, hello Harley did you enjoy your escape" Barbara asked

"Yes it was quite fun, we should do it again sometime" Harley laughed

"We will just get out of Arkham like we always do" Punchline said

"Actually Arkham is being shut down, there's a new facility and you three are the first to try it out" Barbara replied

"Where are we going, we have a right to know" Harley screamed as they were dragged out

"Well I lied Harley your not going, you two are going to the Thomas and Martha Wayne Psychiatric Facility" Barbara said

"Ma'am where is Harley going" a swat member asked

"He wants to talk with her" Barbara replied

"Who?" Harley asked

"Him" Barbara said motioning to the roof

"No, no you can't" Harley said

Bruce then jumped off the roof and glided down beside Harley and grabbed her arm and walked her away the group

"What do you want Bats?" Harley asked

"To know what your plan is" Bruce asked

"My plan?" Harley asked

"You and Joker are no longer working together, so what are you doing" Bruce replied

"I dunno, why what do you want. Do you want me to quit go into hiding because I can't do that" Harley said

"No I want you to work with me" Bruce exclaimed

"Me on your silly little team or Bats and Birds, no thank you" Harley replied

"You were a brilliant Psychologist and had a good heart and then Joker corrupted you, you could be Harleen again" Bruce said

"Harleen is gone, I'll think about it Bman, now am I free or am I going to jail" Harley asked

"You'll have to go to prison but if your on best behaviour I'm sure you'll get out" Bruce answered

"I'll see ya when I get out Bats, don't miss me too much" Harley laughed as she slipped towards the swat van

"Did that go as planned" Barbara asked

"I think so, I believe she will rehabilitate now" Bruce replied

"Well Batman better get back to protecting this city" Barbara said

"Commissioner" Bruce said grappling away

Harley watched as Bruce grappled away from Barbara and then got comfortable in her seat and went into a deep thinking session about what Batman had said to her and she thought about it the whole way to the psychiatric facility.
