Chapter 23 - Powers

The twins were in the back garden running around while David who was beginning to walk was following Damian around the house as he cleaned. Jon was in the living room with his legs crossed on the couch finishing an article on his laptop. Damian was at the kitchen sink when he felt David tug on his trouser leg.

"Look at you walking without falling over" Damian said getting down on his level and ruffling his hair

"I like it more when you carry me" David replied

"Well since you can walk now I don't think I need to that anymore" Damian said

"Yes you do" David pouted

"I don't think so, go out and play with your brother and sister" Damian said

"Okay" David replied leaving

As David left Damian looked out the window above the sink and looked outside at the three children in the garden. He got lost in thought while looking out at them and Jon came up behind him and scared him.

"Now you know how I feel" Jon said hugging him from behind

"Don't ever do that again" Damian replied

"Only if you don't scare me again" Jon stated

"Can't make any promises, but if you scare me again I'll make you regret it" Damian said kissing him

"Will you now" Jon replied kissing him back

"I will and you won't see it coming" Damian smirked

"I'm still concerned that one day I'll wake up and you'll have become a supervillain over night" Jon stated

"That's a good worry" Damian laughed

"Don't say that, that means it's a possibility" Jon said

"Well it's not, not a possibility" Damian stated

"Do you want me to worry more" Jon asked

"Maybe" Damian replied

"I'm going to forget that" Jon said

"Do what you do" Damian smirked

"Look at them out there" Jon said looking out the window with his head on Damian's shoulder

"At least they aren't like me and my siblings" Damian said

"That would be a nightmare, no offence" Jon stated

"None taken, we are a nightmare to deal with" Damian replied

"So you guys know, and you still act that way" Jon asked

"Why would we change" Damian replied

"To show maturity maybe" Jon suggested

"Never, what's happening out there" Damian said getting distracted

"Nothing good" Jon said speeding outside and covering Tommy's eyes

Damian ran outside after Jon, when he got into the garden David and Ellie looked frightened and Jon was wincing with pain while covering Tommy's eyes, which meant one thing his heat vision had kicked in. Damian brought Ellie and David inside to the living room while Jon stayed outside with Tommy still covering his eyes.

"Daddy what's wrong with Tommy" Ellie asked

"Nothing bad and nothing to worry about" Damian replied

"Is he hurting Daddy" David asked

"No, your Dad is much stronger then you think" Damian stated
