Book III - The Omega Wars

Chapter 7 - Barbara

October 31st Gotham City 23:45
Barbara was arriving to the Thomas and Martha Wayne Psychiatric Facility in a SWAT van with four armed guards and a prisoner, Scarecrow. He had escaped Arkham three weeks prior but had gotten the papers to be transferred here and Babs needed to oversee it and she had arranged a meeting there with two others. When she arrived she wheeled herself in the door as Crane was dragged away.

"Babs, long time no see" Helena exclaimed

"Mayor Wayne" Babs replied

"I should have called you Commissioner, I'm sorry" Helena replied

"Don't be" Babs said

"Now he's waiting for us outside one of the consultation rooms" Helena announced

"Who designed this place it's very detailed" Babs asked

"Damian and Tim actually worked together for once and I think my Dad helped a bit too because of who it's named after" Helena replied

"Well they did a great job" Babs stated

The two began moving and made their way down the hallways until they arrived at the consultation room where Red Robin was leaning against the wall.

"He didn't do it" Tim stated

"We found him with the body" Babs replied

"He killed one of my staff" Helena stated

"It wasn't him, our victim died of three GSWs, two to the chest and one to the forehead. Scarecrow doesn't use guns and if he does not to kill and there wasn't an ounce of fear toxin in the victims blood stream. I'm sorry but he's not our killer, but he's involved something is going on" Tim replied

"Okay then who did" Barbara asked

"I don't know, but it's Halloween all the crazies are out" Tim replied

"Yeah you don't have to tell me, I'm still going to question him" Barbara said

"Want me to join" Tim asked

"No, you get Helena home and then come back" Barbara replied

Tim and Helena left while Barbara entered the consultation room where Crane was sitting, he was in a grey jumpsuit with his costume and gear on a locker on the opposite side of the room.

"Commissioner Gordon, thank you" Crane stated

"Thank you, what have I done for you to thank me" Barbara asked

"You put me in here" Crane replied

"And why is that a good, because it's better then Arkham" Barbara questioned

"No, for this" Crane replied as somehow sprayed gas in Barbara's face

Crane stood up and grabbed his gear and left the room, moments later alarms started going off in the facility. When Barbara left the room she was feeling fine until the walls began caving in around her, she followed the guards past each cell. When Tim returned he returned with Dick and Bruce and as they approached her she began firing at them, Dick and Tim got close to her and grabbed her and kept her still while Bruce administered an antidote to the toxin.

"You okay" Dick asked

"I'll be fine, Crane went that way" Barbara replied

"Let's go" Bruce said

The three began walking at a brisk pace while Barbara rolled herself back towards the command centre of the facility. When she entered the Warden was waiting for her.
