Part 66: Pre-fight jitters

Dabi told the League that he'd run into them again.

"I expected them to leave us alone if we left them alone," Compress said.

"I guess that was incorrect," Shigaraki was not pleased. "What did they threaten you with, Dabi?"

"Nothing directly," Dabi rubbed his neck. "They made it clear they were pissed off about it, and they told me I don't get another freaking chance, but that was all. I guess they basically were saying that they will screw us over if we touch one of their students again."

"Told ya we should have just killed the kids already," Toga whined.

"I knew it!" Twice said. "We were all wrong," his other voice said the next second.

"We don't need this right now," Spinner said. "We have a ton of stuff to do preparing for the war, and two extra problems are just gonna make it harder."

"I hate to say it," Compress said. "But perhaps we were premature to try to take them out. Since it failed, now they're mad. They maybe would have left us alone if we'd pretended to go alone with them."

"And who said they were dangerous?" Spinner cried.

"Well, I didn't say we had to kill them!" Compress rerouted.

"Both of you stop it," Shigaraki cut in. "Fighting amongst ourselves won't solve anything... We don't know that they'll do anymore, and besides, what can they really do to us? The police won't believe two random people if they say they ran into us and survived. They weren't even in the news. If they could have done something, they would have by now."

"Doesn't it concern you that they can find Dabi no matter where he is?" Compress said.

"We'll have to move again," Shigaraki declared.

They all groaned.

But the following day, after finding a new location thanks to Giran, they were surprised to find a note sitting on the floor next to Shigaraki's chair when they came in after moving their stuff.

"I don't remember that being here before," Shigaraki picked it up and opened it.

Inside was written this message, which he read aloud, with confusion;

"Dear Shigaraki,

Due to our latest encounter not leaving us very satisfied with how your league operates, we've decided that it's time we had a little talk.

Show up to this location either today, or tomorrow by 5pm. Bring all of your core league memners with you that we've met (except Toga and Twice if you prefer).

If you don't, they will show up here whether you like it or not. Guaranteed.

"Well, that's unexpected," Compress said, once he finished. "Never thought they would pull a stunt like this."

Dabi was amazed.

After he told them how things went for Redestro, he'd have thought they'd know better.

Even if they were fast, did they seriously think they could take all 6 of them?

Plus if they brought any Metas as back up?

Or nomu?

"It's a trap," Spinner said.

"Oh you think?" Dabi said sarcastically out loud.

"What do they mean you'll all bet here anyway?" Shigaraki was puzzled. "If we don't go, how would they make you all be there? Is it some kind of word play?"
