Todoroki and Momo were waiting at the police station for a while before anyone showed up to get them. Much to Todoroki's chagrin, Endeavor got there first. He was the closest and could travel the fastest.
Momo was just glad no one called her parents.
Shine got there just after Endeavor did, and Endeavor didn't even realize she hadn't been there and began demanding an explanation just as if she was supposed to know what he was talking about.
Luckily, Shine was quick on the uptake. "I'm truly sorry this happened, sir. It was an accident."
"What do you mean an accident?! You're supposed to be watching my son! How is letting a d--- villain fly off with him watching him?!" Endeavor raged.
The police stared at them uncomfortably.
"Dad, stop," Todoroki tried to intervene, "It's not Likstar-san's fault. She was trying to get us to run. I should have listened sooner."
"I'll have words for you later, Shoto," Endeavor said.
Momo covered her mouth.
Shine crossed her arms. It took some nerve to do that in the face of Endeavor's anger, but she set herself to do it.
"Sir, this is not helping anyone feel better. I know you're upset, but can we all please stay calm? The worst of it is over now, and the police need us to finish this paperwork."
Endeavor frowned but glanced around and finally noticed how terrified everyone looked. "We'll finish this conversation later," he grumbled.
"Looking forward to it," Shine said dryly.
That she dared to sass him seemed to surprise the police. Also that she wasn't giving a statement. No one offered an explanation to them, and they were afraid to demand it while the heroes were there. Which was rather cowardly of them, but Endeavor was pretty scary. As far as they knew, though, she hadn't been at the crime scene. (Luckily no one heard what Todoroki said.)
After the whole tiresome business was over, Aizawa had arrived to pick them up in one of UA's cars.
"I... uh... I'm glad you're okay, Shoto," Endeavor said awkwardly.
Shine gave Shoto a hopeful look. He wasn't in the best mood, but he nodded coolly. "Yeah."
Momo didn't say anything.
"You need to be more careful--" Aizawa began but Shine cut him off.
"Aizawa, they've been through enough today. Please."
"Likstar, what did I say about respect?" Aizawa said impatiently.
Shine looked up. "What about respect for their sanity? And their feelings."
"I am merely trying to do my job," Aizawa said.
"It's all right, Shine. We deserve it," Shoto said, "Well, I do anyway. I don't think Yaoyurozu did anything wrong."
"I suspect that is probably true," Aizawa said cuttingly, "you, on the other hand, seem to be getting more and more like Midoriya these days."
"That is not fair," Shine directly contradicted him, to their surprise, "And how's this for respect? This is so sick. Why don't you reassure the students who got frightened out of their lives almost instead of scold them? And it's not Todoroki's fault. The villain had it out for Hawks and was too outclassed. I heard the whole story. Anyway, it's my fault, really."
"I was getting to that," Aizawa said, "Why didn't you keep them away from the fight?"
"I had every intention of doing so," Shine said, "but perhaps I should have been less cautious and just taken us out of there with a portal. Other than that, I don't see anything I did wrong. Crap happens sometimes, and it's no use blaming each other. I don't victim blame, and frankly, you doing it is making me want to hurl. I'll be sure to aim for you if I do."
