It's a sunny day and we're currently preparing for the opening of the amusement park. Clyde postponed completing the bucket list and brought me here instead. The people here miss me, according to him. They usually open at seven pm but since it's Philippines Independence Day, they made an exemption and will start at 1 pm.
"Tatang Marcelo," I called.
He looked at me. "Ano iyon iha?"
I peeked at Clyde who's in a teddy bear mascot before answering him.
"Pwede po ba akong tumulong? Ayoko pong tumayo lang dito at walang gawin," I suggested.
Tatang Marcelo smiled.
"Gusto mo bang mag mascot kagaya ni Clyde?"
"Kung ano po ang pwe-" I was cut off when Clyde interrupted out of nowhere.
He should make a sound when walking.
"Ay nako po tatang, hindi bagay sa kaniya ang mascot. Prinsesa kaya 'to."
He put his arm across my shoulder and winked at Tatang before taking me to a secluded place available only for the workers.
Seriously? He also does that to Tatang Marcelo? I guess he winks at everybody. The confidence this boy has is higher than Mount Everest.
He parted the curtains which revealed a room full of costumes. We made our way into these gorgeous dresses.
"Diba gusto mong tumulong?" he asked while I took a peek of the dresses.
I nodded.
He handed me a Lilac Tulle Lace Long A Line dress with floral print partnered with a Cross Straps Rose Quartz High Heels with flower petals.
My eyes widen as I gasp. I traced the dress. It's so pretty.
The excitement I felt lessened as I realised something.
"Pero, I think walang disney princess ang may ganitong suot kahit na sa barbie," I informed him. I think it's better to wear a costume everybody would recognize.
He placed his hands on my shoulders. "Cloe," he called my name.
I raised my eyebrow at him. Ano na naman kaya ang sasabihin nito. Ugh.
"Hindi ka magpapanggap na isa sa mga disney princess, okay? O kahit na sa barbie kasi," he trailed off and put a crown on me. "Sa ngayon, ikaw ang prinsesa ko. Prinsesa Cloe ni Prinsipe Clyde."
I eyed him from head to toe.
"Seryoso ka? Prinsesa sa isang Prinsipe na naka Teddy bear mascot?" I scoffed.
He chuckled.
"Sorry. Naka duty kasi," he said and made a peace sign.
I rolled my eyes and went to the dressing room to change, hiding my smile from him.

I'm at the Carousel after being dragged by kids away from Clyde.
A little girl held my finger with her little hand. The other kids went their way with the horses. She pointed the horse close to us.
She must want to ride the Carousel.
I carried her so that she could sit since it's way too tall for her to get on herself. I took a step back to exit but the little girl moaned and motioned me to sit beside her.
My eyes automatically went to the person who manages the ride, asking for permission. I'm well aware that 16 year olds aren't allowed to ride the carousel since it's just intended for children.
He nodded and smiled at me. I sat behind the girl and the ride started. My cheeks heated when I saw how many families were watching their children and were probably wondering why I'm also riding.
It's so embarrassing. I'm the only teen here. So awkward.
My thoughts were interrupted when the little girl giggled. It plastered a smile on my face.
Let's just enjoy this Cloe.
I caught Clyde who's standing beside the Balloon Darts. We waved at each other. The little girl also waved at him, imitating me. I chuckled.
After one turn, I looked at where Clyde was but he's nowhere to be seen.
Where did that thief go?
The ride came to a halt. I didn't even notice. I helped the little girl come down and she immediately ran towards someone.
My eyes widen from recognition.
Our bickering was interrupted when someone rang the doorbell.
Wait someone doorbelled?!
My eyes widened in conclusion.
Don't tell me...
I ordered Clyde to hide.
My heart's pounding so fast as I get closer to the gates.
Why am I nervous? I could simply hide Clyde in the upper room.
I ready myself before opening the gates. I took a sigh of relief when I saw a girl around my age instead of my mom.
And why would my mom doorbell when she can simply go inside. It's her house after all.
Nahawa na ako sa kabobohan nitong si Clyde.
"Bagong lipat kami dito. Pinabibigay ni mama," she spoke and handed me a tupperware with maja in it.
"Thankㅡ" I didn't get to finish what I'm saying when she rolled her eyes at me and walked away after.
What a brat.
I purposely closed the gate with a big force that created a loud sound.
"That girl sure lacks some decency in her," I muttered with annoyance.
"Ate, she's so pretty." The little girl said, referring to me.
Even if it's so flattering, I couldn't get myself to smile.
"Let's go Mae," she announced, dragging the child away.
I scoffed. She doesn't even know how to say thank you.
"Ba-bye," the little girl by the name of Mae shouted and waved at me.
I smiled in return.
By the way, where could that Clyde gone in to?
I searched my eyes around only to see him walking towards me from the back of the carousel.
My eyes scanned what he's wearing.
I can't help but to roll my eyes. It does look good on him. The prince's charming costume.
"Nagagalak akong makilala ka Prinsesa Cloe," he greeted and bowed in front of me.
He stood and offered me his hand. "Maari bang makasama kita sa aking paglilibot?"
I sighed. Ano na naman kaya ang binabalak nito. Well, let's just play along.
"I would love to," I sang and took his hand.
From that moment onwards, he never let go of my hand.
And it's not too late to say that my heart skips a beat whenever he's around.
