"Seriously?" I asked in disbelief.

He looked at me sternly. "Seriously."

I looked at the tree. How are we gonna climb this and go inside?

"Uhm. Where are you taking me?" I asked after seeing the quiet place we're taking.

"Diba gusto mong pumasok sa school?" he reminded.

I nodded.

"So papasok talaga tayo ng school?" I exclaimed. "Pero diba 'di tayo makakapasok pag walang uniform at ID?" I added.

"Kaya sa likod tayo papasok. May daanan 'dun at saka hindi sila nag u-uniform," he informed.

"You sure know a lot."

He wrinkled his nose, "Anong sabi mo?"

"Hulaan mo," I sang.

"Pfft. Sabi mo ang gwapo ko at ang talino pa," he proudly said and wiggled his eyebrows.

My face formed into a frown after hearing what he just said. I rolled my eyes.

"Cloe," he called after kneeling.

I stared at his back.

My eyebrows met. "What do youㅡ Anong gusto mong gawin ko?"

He looked at me, "Sumakay ka sa likod ko tapos abutin mo 'yung sangay para maka-akyat ka." He pointed at the branch above us.

My eyes are left frozen open.

"Anong akala mo sa 'kin? Ninja? Unggoy?" I scowled.

He chuckled at my remark.

His hand went to mine. Instantly my fear lessened a bit.

He pulled me closer to him.

My eyes traveled everywhere in confusion. What does he want me to do?

I put my hands around his neck.

"Hindi ganyan."

He stood behind me and whispered into my ears, "Magtiwala ka lang."

I shrieked when he suddenly went below me and lifted me up. My legs are on his shoulders.

He whined in pain after I pulled his hair.

"Aray ko naman Cloe!" he exclaimed.

I laughed. "Binigla mo kasi ako."

I grabbed the branch to climb. This is harder than I  thought.

"Clyde, pakitaas naman ng konti," I demanded as I struggle to climb.

"Umapak ka nalang sa balikat ko."

I looked down and saw him sweating. As far as I know I'm not that heavy. It's just that he's malnourished.

A squeal left my mouth when he became shaky after I stepped on his shoulders.

My arms become sore after trying my best to stand on the branch. The problem now is how the hell is Clyde gonna climb thisㅡ

Nevermind. He already is beside me.

"Hindi ko alam na may kasama pala akong ninety percent unggoy at ten percent tao," I commented.

He glared at me while I just laughed at his reaction.

"Madalas kaming umakyat ng puno noon para kumuha ng mangga. Ako kaya ang pinakamagaling sa amin," he bragged.

"Eh ikaw?" he asked.

My face went poker. Seriously? He's gonna ask that?

"Ah. Nakalimutan ko hindi ka nga pala pinapalabas sa bahay niyo," he sheepishly said.

"First time ko pang umakyat ng puno," I muttered.

I turned my head to see Clyde balancing himself walking across the branch. I stood up and followed him.

My hands started to sweat and my legs were shaking. He held my sweaty hands and guided me across.

"Ako ang unang tatalon tapos sasaluhin kita, okay?" he declared after we reach on top of the wall successfully.

"Okaㅡ" I didn't finish what I was saying. He already jumped.

I guess he didn't need my permission after all.

As a revenge I also jumped down before he could prepare.  I landed with my feet but the impact left me sitting down on the grass.

"Cloe! Okay ka lang?!"

I lifted my head to see him. A loud laugh escaped through me.

"That was so thrilling!" I beamed.

He sighed as if he was relieved that I'm not hurt.

A bell echoed throughout the place and several students ran towards a covered court.

"Halika na," he said as he held my hands to help me stand up.

We mingled with the crowd and fell in line just like them. Clyde is in the line of the boys while I'm in the girls. He smiled at me and I rolled my eyes as a response.

My heart's beating fast as I look around. I don't know if it's because I'm scared or excited. This is the first time I saw this many people and at my age at that.

The school had their general assembly and it was nice. I didn't sing or recite though except for Lupang Hinirang which is the only one I recognised.

After the gathering, the students went to their respective classrooms. Clyde and I went with the class we fell in line earlier.

We got glances from some of them. Probably wondering who we were.

"Clyde, baka makulong tayo nito ha," I whispered to him.

He leaned to me. "Hindi noh. Kakasimula pa lang ng klase nila sa pagkakaalam ko. Pwede nating sabihin na transferee tayo," he explained.

But still the uneasiness in me is still around.

"Hey," someone called from the class.

He went to us. "Bago kayo dito?"

I looked at Clyde.

If we get caught I'm gonna punch him to his death.

We're stuck outside and the rest of the class already went inside.

"Ah. Oo." was the only thing Clyde said after someone called our company.

"Noah. Papasok kayo o hindi?"

"Uy Ken halika nga dito," he called.

I can feel my heart wanting to go out of my body. I swear I'm going to kill you Clyde if this goes the wrong way.

"May bago tayong kaklase," he said referring to us. "Class President namin," Noah whispered to us.

Ken tilted his head as if he was confused. "Our homeroom teacher didn't tell me anything about this," he muttered.

"Marielle!" Noah waved behind us.

My eyes widened after seeing who it was.

She went to us with crossed arms. Her eyes narrowed us down. Brat!

"You're not from here. How did you get in?"
