I don't want Lee to die :,)

The night traveled in bits and pieces. Some would say that it was a movie in the making. We had been walking for a good 10 minutes now, probably walking in circles because all the corn looks the damn same. Let me just say that I was completely exhausted. My legs felt stiff and my hands still ached from earlier. All I could think about was what my Mother said. Was it simply a dream or did she really contact me through our minds. Whatever it was I need to work it out real fast otherwise who knows what could happen.

I felt a light tap on my back. I turned to see that Regan had stopped and was trying to tell us something.

"I ran into Dad earlier, he was running out of the corn field." She signed

"Okay? What about it?" Marcus signed, with attitude I might add. He clearly was frustrated and stressed from not knowing where his parents were.

"He told me to set off fire works for Mom. You too should go find Dad while I go light the fire works." She signed back.

"Wait no!" I signed. I gotta say, it's hard to give off emotions while using sign language. Especially when you can't see their face expressions properly because of the dark.

"Why not?" Regan signed

"We can't split up!" Marcus signed, moving his hands frantically as if trying to give off an ' obviously this is why ' kinda vibe.

"Unless you want to take extra time to find Mom, our only logical option is to split up and save time!" Regan signed.

After our little silent yelling match. We decided it was best to listen to Regan since she was older than all of us -- So technically she was smarter too.

~

Sometime in the night, we ran into Lee. He said that Regan was safe with Evelyn and that Marcus had a new brother. I wish I could say I was excited but, I always felt that they were trying to replace Beau. -- I know it sounds stupid but who would have a baby in a world where you had to be silent? A baby is literally the loudest thing on earth.

I heard an unsettling clicking begin from around me. I pulled Lee back, almost accidentally sending him to the ground. He gave me a puzzled look until I pointed up. We all looked up to the sky, seeing the head of a Death Angle peeping over the sheds roof. I would say staring down at us but, they can't see.

The creatures ears opened up, revealing a slimy substance and a disgusting looking ear drum. I tried my best not to gag at the sight -- as it was truely not a sight for sore eyes -- everything was fine until some stupid shovel fell from behind us, knocking the other tools down in a domino effect. How convenient, exactly what we needed right now. The creature wipped it's head in our direction and jumped down Infront of us. From the corner of my eye I could see Lee reaching for something. I knew instantly that he was going to do something unreasonable. I grabbed his attention, practically begging him not to do what ever I thought he was going to do. He pulled Marcus and I close to his head and whispered; 'run'. As soon as those words left his mouth, Lee shoved us to the side and ran in the opposite direction. The Death Angel took no hesitation and galloped after Lee.

I just froze

What do I do?

Marcus pulled me by the arm towards an old rusted car. I stumbled in his direction before catching my feet and running with him. He clambered into the truck as I just stood and watched as the world unfold.

I locked eye contact with Lee. He gave me a small smile before letting out a blood twisting scream.

My heart dropped, I looked back to Marcus to see him frozen in place. His head slowly rose as he turned to look at me. I gave Marcus a desperate look, glancing back to Lee. He held his shovel firmly as the Death Angel charged toward him, taking its first strike.

I felt my knees buckle below me. I fell to the moist dirt, holding out my hands to save me. My throat ran dry and my blood began to boil. I watched as the creature kept hunting Lee.

"stop" I mumbled.

"stop" I repeated, only louder.

"STOP"

I screamed as loud and as long as I could until my throat began to burn. My voice echoed across the field. Silence fell across the night once again. I sat with my head in my hands, not wanting to look at the shit show Infront of me.

I felt Marcus from behind me. He crouched down, laying a hand on my shoulder.

"[y/n]-"

"I'm sorry Marcus I really am."

"Don't be sorry."

"But he's dead Marcus, Lee's gone."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, just look up." He whispered, lifting my head.

I hesitantly opened my eyes. As soon as I did, shock overwhelmed me for Infront of me, a Death Angel lay in a bowing position inches away from my face. I scrambled to me feet, taking several steps back.

"What.. is it doing..? I questioned

"I don't know but whatever it is, you caused it." Lee said, appearing from behind the creature holding his stomach with one hand and the shovel in the other.

"But, how?" I asked.

"I don't know but you saved my life." Lee said.

I stare in disbelief. I slowly reached my hand out, brushing against its skin. It was cold and rough however it was also dry. I quickly pulled my hand away, remembering what it did to Lee.

"leave" I whispered.

Marcus and Lee stood still, clearly astonished by what was happening. The Death Angel got onto all fours and began to walk in the opposite direction. We just watched as it left our sight, leaving the farm. I looked at Lee, then at Marcus.

"One down, how many to go?"

AU- Many people were disappointed with my last chapter, that why I was unsure of updating or not but I figured I will finish what I started with the same amount of effort as chapters one and two. Thank you do everyone that stayed to read. Also, please remember to vote if you like the story <3
