The afternoon sun was broken by the distant mountains. As the last of the light faded from the sky, I sat on the roof top, staring into the sunset.

'What have I done.' I thought, rubbing the final tears from my eyes.

If only I had listened to what Regan had to say, then I wouldn't be on this roof, hiding from everyone. I was so wrong to threaten her life but, she did not need to bring my mother into the fight, especially by saying all that.. stuff. I feel like my stomach is empty, but not a hungry type of empty.

I feel.. numb.

"[y/n]." A soft whisper came from behind me, followed by a light weight snake around my waist. Marcus sat behind me, only a few inches away. His arms held my body in a secure but comfortable hug.

"How did you find me up here." I asked, trying to mask the fact that I was crying.

"I will always find you." He responded, making me laugh. I brought my hands up to hold his.

"That's creepy." I said in between giggles.

"Yeah,, I said that wrong but you know what I meant." His words were muffled as he rested his head into the crook of my neck, his hot breath hitting my cold skin. I shuffled back a bit, my back resting onto his chest. He hugged me tighter as the moon stood tall amongst the stars.

"I'm sorry about the fight." I whispered. My voice slightly broke in between my words. My throat felt dry as I tried my best not to cry again.

"You were both in the wrong, but Regan shouldn't have said that about your mother. You have nothing to be sorry for [y/n]." He mumbled into my neck. I just hummed a low response.

My eyes grew tired and my body felt fragile. I allowed a yawn to escape my mouth, catching Marcus's attention.

"You alright love?" He said as he lifted his head.

"Love, thats a new one." I giggled and turned my body around so I was facing Marcus. I was now sat on his lap, my arms around his neck and my legs on either side of him. He held a tight grip on my hips as I layed my head on his chest. He let out a low hum, lifting my chin so I would look at him.

"Tired are we?" He whispered, moving closer to my face so he was a few inches away.

I nodded in response, laying my head back down. His hands crawled under my legs as he stood up with me, still in his arms. I hugged him closer, adjusting my legs around his hips to make sure I wouldn't fall. Marcus carried my to the entrance of the base, making sure to be extra careful on any stairs.

"[y/n], you gotta jump to get down." He whispered into my ear.

"Can we just stay up here, away from everyone?" I mumbled, my eyes failing to stay open.

"Sure, anything for you." He said before pulling me down onto his lap once again. He cradled my small figure, brushing the hair out of my face every time the breeze made it slip.

"Goodnight love." Was all I heard before my mind fell into a world of fantasy.

AU- sorry this chapter is short, I had to publish something since it's been over a week. This part is kind of a filler, but also a build in your relationship. I will try to publish more frequently, I just have school because lockdown ended. If there are any mistakes, please let me know <3
