Chapter 9

Im going to skip the boring parts of the chapter for not only my sake but yours. Sorry if you wanted to read that, but it would basically go the same as it does in the manga, just with Sora in the background.

"How are you feeling, Sora? You look like your head hurts." Koi asked, sitting next to Sora in the office. Sora shrugged, still thinking about the interaction with Tanjiro. Though she didnt actually get to talk to him, she still was able to see him for the first time, besides pictures.

"My head is fine, just a lot to think about.." she mumbled, sighing as she got up. "Ill be outside if you need me." She smiled, turning her head to him. She walked away, heading towards the garden.

'Hey Ryo? When do you think we will go up against Muzan?' Sora thought, asking Ryo, who was trying to sleep.

"I Don't know. Some time in the next 3 ish years. Why? You planning to do something stupid again?"

'No, i just wanted to know, thats all. Just because i wanted to know when we might die doesn't mean im planning anything. Plus you would know, since you can hear all my thoughts.'

"I dont hear them all. Only the ones directed to me or something that involves the curse. Its quite simple when you think about it. Haha, get it?"

'Haha very funny, Ryo. Go back to sleep or whatever.'

Sora sat down on her favourite bench under the cherry blossom tree, enjoying the scent that only lasts a short period of time.

A tiny meow was heard, bringing Sora out of her thoughts. She looked under the bench where the sound came from and saw a small grey kitten.

"Hello there.. who might you be?" Sora whispered softly, picking the kitten up and setting it down in her lap. "You are one beautiful little kitten, arent you? Hm, do you not have a family?" Sora mumbled to herself mostly, checking what gender it was. "Okay, ill take take of you.. uh.. what should your name be?"

Sora sat and pet the cat, thinking of what she should name him. She had never taken care of an animal besides her crow, let alone had to name one. There were a bunch of names for her to decide upon, but one distinct one popped into her head.

"Do you like the name Storm, kitty?" She asked, and the kitten meowed and pawed the air gently. Sora smiled, placing a kiss on Storms head. "We need to go to the shopping district to get you some food, a collar, a toy or two, and a bed!"

Sora stood up, placing Storm on her shoulder, hoping he would stay there. He just laid there, comfortable enough to doze off. Sora smiled as she made her way to the shops, careful to not have Storm slip off and hurt himself.

"Okay Storm, what do you think?" Sora smiled, placing Storms stuff down, then him. He meowed and sniffed around, and Sora put some wet food into a small dish. He was still a kitten, so he probably couldn't eat hard food yet. She would also have to bottle feed him special formula, and she still needed to get him looked at for fleas and other stuff.

Sora sat and watched Storm as he ate his food from the bottle, making sure he didn't choke from eating too fast. Having a kitten was going to be hard, but he was cute, so that made up for it.

After Storm finished eating Sora let him explore her room a bit after she kitten proofed it.

Someone knocked on her door, and Sora looked up from her book.

"Come in." She said, and Mitsuri entered the room. Sora smiled, "hey Kanroji, whats up?"

"Heya Sora! I was wondering if you wanted to train with me toda- awe!! A kitten!!" Mitsuri stopped mid sentence, seeing Storm at her feet. She picked him up and hugged him, murmuring words of cuteness. "Who is this cute little guy?"

"Thats Storm, i found him in the garden. Isnt he just the cutest?" Sora smiled, and they both 'awe'd in cuteness when he licked Mitsuris nose.

"He is so cute!!! Do you think he has any more family out in the garden somewhere?" Mitsuri asked, and Sora thought about it for a moment.

"I have no idea, i never really checked. Would you like to come with me to look? It is a strong possibility he does, and i would hate to leave them out there." Sora said, and Mitsuri nodded in agreement.

"Sure! I can get Iguro to help too! I wonder if he's a cat person.."

"Im sure he's more of a snake person, Kanroji." Sora laughed, getting up from the chair and setting her book on the bookshelf.

"Well obviously, but would he prefer cats or dogs? They are both so cute, i cant choose between the two!" Mitsuri smiled, and Sora took Storm from her. She set him on her shoulder, and the three of them made their way out.

"Iguro! Do you like cats or dogs more?" Mitsuri asked him as he walked into the garden, and he sighed lightly.

"I prefer snakes." He said, standing in front of the two of them. Sora just chuckled, knowing that was what he was going to say. "Why am i here?"

"We need you to help us look for something." Sora said, and Mitsuri nodded with a smile. He sighed again.

"What is it we are looking for?" He asked, and Mitsuri pointed to Storm on Soras shoulder.

"We need to see if he has any siblings! It would be horrible to leave them out alone.. thats why you are here!" Mitsuri said with a big grin, and Obanai looked at Storm then back at Mitsuri.

"Fine."

They all looked for a while, and ended up finding another kitten. This time it was a cream kitten with black paws, and it looked like it had boots on.

"Aw she is so cute!!" Mitsuri cried, holding up the kitten to her face and kissing it all over. Obanai blushed lightly at the sight of Mitsuri, and Sora chuckled. He shot her a look and she covered her mouth, still smiling.

"Why do you have a cat on your shoulder?" Ryo asked, and Sora jumped. She forgot he existed, and was too interested in the kittens.

'Why, are you allergic? Wait, does that even make sense? Can you be allergic if im not?'

"No im not allergic, and no thats not how it works. I just wanted to know; im not a fan of animals. They are a hassle to take care of, and given you're a Hashira, i don't think you'll be able to care for them properly."

'Oh look on the bright side! They are both super cute, and i could train them to take notes like the crows! I don't know if it will be as affective, but we don't know until we try!'

"Yeah okay whatever, just don't come crying to me when you are exhausted from taking care of them. Im going back to sleep."

"Earth to Sora!" Mitsuri said, waving her hand in front of Soras face. She looked up with a confused look, and both of them were looking at her closely. Obanai had his hand in his pocket, and Sora assumed thats where the crystal was. "You okay? Do you feel like you're going to pass out?"

"Ah, sorry about that. No, i don't, but I appreciate you two for worrying. It truly does mean a lot to me." Sora smiled, and Obanai took his hand out of his pocket with a slight relieved look on his face.

"Thats good! I didn't want you to hit your head on the stones and crack it open, that would suck big time!!" Mitsuri cried, and Sora just laughed.

"We should probably get these kittens checked out, and feed her." Sora said, talking about the nameless cream kitten.

"We also need a name for her! Will you be taking care of both of them?" Mitsuri asked, and Sora nodded.

"Do you guys have any name suggestions?" Sora asked, walking with the two of them out of the garden.

"Oh oh oh! What about a name related to the weather like Storm! Like.. Snow!" Mitsuri suggested, and Sora smiled.

"Its perfect."
