OKAY IK THIS CHAPTER IS BEING UPLOADED ON TECHNICALLY A THURSDAY, BUT I FORGOT IM SORRY FOLKS </3
-.-.-<3-.-.-
"Ive never done a check up on an animal before.. this is.. new.. to say the least." Shinobu said, holding both kittens in her hands. Sora laughed, placing a bandaid over a bite mark. Snow had gotten defensive and bit Sora on the back of her hand after she tried to take the food dish from the two kittens. It didn't hurt, but it was bleeding a bit.
"Im not going to force you to, i just came here for a bandaid mostly. I can always go to a specialist, im not busy today." Sora shrugged, tapping the bandaid twice for good luck. She always seemed to do it whenever she got hurt as a child, since she never got her injuries kissed by her parents. It was natural to do it, and she does it purely out of instinct now.
"The most i could do is check for injuries, but other than that you'll have to go to a professional." Shinobu said, setting the kittens down on the table. Sora thanked her, and she helped check the kittens with her.
-
"Hello Sora!" Rengoku said, waving down Sora from down the path. She smiled and walked towards him, standing in front of him.
"Hello Kyojuro!" Sora replied, placing Storm and Snow on both her shoulders. She was just arriving back from the checkup for the kittens, and they are both healthy, which is good.
"You are just the person i was looking for. I want you to come with me on a mission with Tanjiro and his friends, if you don't mind!"
"Sure, as long as it is approved by master first." She said with a grin, excitement filling her body. She hadn't gone on a mission in a while, so she was happy.
"He was actually the one to suggest it!"
"Well thats perfect! What is the mission exactly?" She asked, and Rengoku explained the mission, and when they would be leaving.
"Sora, i hate to say this, but you have no choice. You need to go on this mission." Ryo said out of the blue, and Sora was surprised.
'Why?'
"I cant say, but you need to."
'You cant just say i have no choice then not elaborate on it? At least tell me part of the reason.'
"You will save lives. Thats all im saying."
'What, can you magically see the future or something? Thats kind of impossible, in case you didn't know.'
"..."
'Wait.. why are you being quiet? Am i right?! Hold you you cant just say nothing about this after saying you can see the future!'
"..."
'Ryo! Just because you are my uncle doesn't mean you have authority over me. Just tell me yes or no, thats all i need.'
"Yes."
'Oh my god. This is game changing, Ryo! Why didn't you say so earlier? I guess this is what you meant all of those times.'
"You always seem to zone out in front of your friends. He is calling you again, be more observant Sora."
Sora snapped out of her thoughts to see Rengoku looking at her with worry again. She did always seem to space out at the wrong times.
"Are you okay Sora?" He asked, and she nodded.
"I just got lost in thought, thats all. I would have told you if i was going to faint, im okay. Really." She smiled, and he sighed in relief.
The worst feeling is to see your close friend fall to the ground, and all of the Hashira have to worry about that happening to Sora. She could fall to the floor at anytime, and if they don't act quickly, she would die. Her life is in their hands every time she passes out, and that can be a lot of pressure on someone. No matter how mentally strong they are, it still hurts.
"I should get going, i still need to get these kittens checked up on by a professional." Sora sighed lightly, and Rengoku nodded. "Ill see you on the train?"
"Yeah, ill see you there, Sora!"
-
"So you're going on a mission, and you want to ask master to watch the kittens?" Sanemi said, and Sora nodded. Sanemi was holding Snow, nervous he would drop her. Sora was on her way to masters estate, and she bumped into Sanemi. Literally.
The two of them bumped into each other, and the kittens almost fell off her shoulders. Luckily Sora was able to catch them in time before they hit the floor. If it wasn't for her reflexes they would have been seriously hurt.
"Im sure he would be willing to watch them! I would only be gone for two days or so, and they don't need much besides toys and food. Plus they are already really well potty trained, so they wouldn't pee on anything." She explained, walking with Sanemi. He was acting friendly today, but she didn't mind him. Its nice when she gets to talk to him like they were currently, which doesn't happen often. But one wrong thing said and he explodes, like a ticking time bomb.
"Hm." Sanemi said, placing the kitten back on Soras shoulder. "Im leaving now."
"Okay, well have a good day, Sanemi!" Sora said with a smile as Sanemi walked away, waving goodbye with her free hand.
"He was nice today." Ryo said, scaring Sora. She still cant get used to the fact her dead uncles spirit was living in her subconscious. It was creepy to say the least.
'Yeah, it doesn't happen often. I enjoy talking to him though, even if he's grumpy. There is something about him thats calming, ya know?'
"Right.."
'What..?'
"Nothing, you might walk into something if you don't pay attention. Be more aware of the surroundings, Sora."
'You say that a lot-'
Sora looked up and she was a couple feet away from walking into a tree.
"That was a close call.." she mumbled, turning and continuing her way to masters estate while occasionally checking to see if anyone was following her. She had sent a crow about an hour in advance, just so they would know she was coming over. Sora didn't want to show up unannounced, that would be rude. Especially to the master and leader of the demon slayer corps.
-
"Im sorry for bringing this up such short notice, but you were the only ones i thought could take good care of these two." Sora said, bowing in front of the master while apologizing.
"No need, Sora. In fact im a fan of cats, so i do not mind at all." He spoke in a soft tone, his wife sitting down next to him. Sora sighed in relief, knowing Storm and Snow would be in good hands while she was away.
"Thank you once again, master. It means a lot to me. Ive left the kittens stuff in the corner, and their food for tonight." Sora said, and Amane nodded with a smile. "I must get going, i don't want to be late."
"Be safe, and take care, Sora." He smiled, and Sora returned it. Even if he couldn't see it, he knew she was smiling back. She always had a smile on her face, it was her recognizable feature by all. It was normal to see Sora smiling, and it made the people around her smile too.
"You too, master."
