Chapter 34

It was now the day of Soras 19th birthday, and she was not excited. Normally she would be happy and excited to spend her day with all of her friends. Not today though.

Something felt off about her as she woke up on the 12th. Her body felt dull as soon as she sat up, just wanting to lay back in bed. She couldn't figure out why, and it bugged her.

She shook it off and got out of bed, putting on her slippers.

Even before she left her room, she could smell her favourite breakfast dish being made, which brought a smile to her face.

"Good morning, and happy birthday Sora." Koi said with a grin as she entered the main room.

"Good morning Koi! Thank you for the birthday wish." She hummed with a soft smile, still tired. Though she just wanted to train and do missions, she had the day off to celebrate her birthday.

She was never a fan of celebrating her birthday, and she didn't like surprises very much. She never knew why, but she just didn't like them.

"After breakfast your friend is going to be picking you up, so be ready." Koi said, and Sora nodded. She wondered who would be picking her up, though it was always a mystery.

Sora got ready after eating, making sure to wash her face and brush her teeth before anything else.

"Red or yellow.." she mumbled, unsure as to what to wear. After a lot of thought she ended up putting on the yellow one, quickly doing her hair.

"Your friend is here dear." Saeyako said softly through Soras door, and Sora responded with a thanks.

She left her room, saying goodbye to Koi and Saeyako before leaving the estate. Though she wanted to spend her time training, her friends insisted on her hanging out with them.

"All ready?" Mitsuri smiled, greeting Sora as she stepped out of the estate. Sora grinned with a soft nod, though it was replaced with slight confusion when she couldn't spot Obanai. "Sanemi pulled him away, he'll be with us later!"

"Alright then, lets go!" Sora smiled, and the two girls made their way to the meeting spot.

Sora and Mitsuri arrived at the spot they were told to go to, and it was a simple field inside a forest with pretty flowers and a beautiful view of the sky where the sun would be setting later on in the day.

"You guys made it!" Shinobu smiled as she clapped her hands, standing up from where she and Gyomei were sitting. "Happy birthday Sora!"

"Thank you Kocho." She smiled, hugging Shinobu. They all went and sat down, and Sora thanked Gyomei for his birthday wish with a hug as well.

"We are just waiting on the rest.. They seem to be late.." Muichiro said, appearing from behind Gyomei.

"Also, im afraid Uzui can't be here today. He wishes you a happy birthday though." Shinobu explained, and Sora nodded.

After a little bit of waiting, everyone who was supposed to be attending had arrived but one. They were all just waiting on Rengoku.

Sora sat with everyone, Shinobu teasing Giyu entertained everyone as they waited. Sora had a smile on her face, enjoying her time so far, excited for the rest of the day to happen.

"Sorry to keep you waiting everyone!" A familiar cheerful voice called out from behind Sora, and she turned her head around quickly with a big grin.

"Kyo!" She smiled, standing up and running towards him with her arms open. He chuckled, opening his arms as she ran towards him. She jumped into his arms, happy to see him after what had happened at Sayuris party. He had to leave for a mission the day after the party, so she didn't get a chance to talk to him about it.
