Senna was sweating. The transport was packed with all sorts of people that had no concept of personal boundaries, and she was smooshed against a window by Rex who was trying to not upset the annoyed-looking Gran sitting next to him. "Remind me why we had to take the cheapest transport available," she grumbled as her nose wrinkled at some sort of odor that was drifting up from behind them.
Rex slipped his arm around her shoulders, giving her a firm squeeze. "Because, dear, we agreed this would be best for the budget. Remember?"
"If you don't remove your sweaty armpit from my shoulder in the next five seconds, you're going to have to ask your droid friend where he got his new scomp arm from," she grumbled at him. "For the record, this isn't exactly how I imagined my honeymoon going." The Gran snorted next to them, and Senna shot him a withering look. "You got a problem, three eyes?"
"She didn't mean that, friend," Rex said with a smile, but his voice was strained.
Senna whirled on him, her nostrils flaring, but she remained silent for the next few hours until they pulled into the capital city port. As Rex pulled their bags from the storage spot, Senna felt a shove in her back and whirled to find the Gran nudging her out of the way to get to his luggage. "What is your deal? Do you need your face re-arranged, pal?"
"You need some manners, lady."
"Oh, now you want manners?"
Rex sighed and stepped in between them as the Gran and Senna went nose to nose. "Back off, Valla," he said quietly. The Gran pushed forward again, and Rex gave him a shove back.
"How dare you put your hands on me!"
Rex placed a palm on his chest. "Trust me, it's for your own good. I wouldn't want to go toe to toe with her if I were you."
The Gran gave one last flurry of curses before grabbing his bag, turning on his heel and storming off.
Rex stepped closer to Senna. "And what exactly is your problem?" he whispered in her ear.
She glared up at him. "I don't appreciate your tone, Lon."
"And I don't appreciate you almost ending this entire thing before it began. We're supposed to be keeping a low-profile trip, remember?"
She huffed, hoisting her bag over her shoulder and stomping off the platform. Rex leaned down to grab his bag and followed after her. She had stopped at the bottom of the landing platform and looked even more annoyed. He walked up and stopped next to her, and she turned and glared at him. "What?"
"You don't know which way we're going, do you?"
She didn't answer, which he took as an affirmative. "The inn's this way," he smirked, turning down a sidestreet, her following behind, still in a huff.
Rex had chosen a place to stay that was near the port but within range of Senna's comm equipment. After checking in, they went up to their single room Rex had booked, and Senna immediately went to the refresher to rinse the sweat and smell off of her. Rex sat his bag down and began unpacking to take inventory. He had brought his blaster, several different types of explosives, macrobinoculars, and his med kit. He also unpacked the bedroll he'd brought with him, assuming he'd let Senna sleep in the bed and he'd take the floor. He took stock of the room. It was simple enough and would serve the purpose it was intended for. He walked to the window and opened the curtain only to be met with a view of the plaster side of the building next door. "Scenic," he muttered under his breath. Once Senna was done freshening up, he switched places with her, in the refresher so that he could rinse the travel off of him. He could hear Senna out in the room shuffling about. I wonder what's got her all riled up, he thought as he listened to her huff and puff around. Once he was done showering and had gotten dressed, he quietly stepped back out into absolute chaos.
