     August 7, 1973

We had since moved to our new location. We now live in a detached house which was very different from an apartment.

Roger and I are still arranging everything, unfortunately putting the stuff down is not easy. Friends and family help us, they come to visit every day for help. This is very handy, because we have a two-month-old baby who desperately needs care.

------

Roger was on the phone, calling his mom with some questions. I sat with Benjamin on the couch, he slept peacefully in my arms.

"Thank you mom, I love you!" Roger said as he hung up the phone. Roger sat down on the couch with a smile. "Don't you love it here?" Roger asked.

I nodded with a big smile, "Roger, I've never been able to live in such a big house, we are so happy together." I said as I leaned my head on Roger's shoulder.

There was a knock at the door. Roger got up and opened the door. Who could that be? I thought to myself, we weren't expecting a visit.

It was two small children standing at the door, "Hello sir, we live across the road, please my name is Tommy." I heard coming out of the hallway.

"How sweet of you to welcome us, you can come in?" Roger asked. The two children nodded, their aunt and uncle had originally lived in this house.

Two children walked into the living room, "Hello!" I welcomed.  The children lined up neatly next to each other. "Hello madam, we would like to welcome you to this new house, we lived across the street."  Said the spontaneous little boy.

The girl standing next to the boy didn't say much. She was very shy, she looked a bit like me when I was young.

Roger sat down on the couch. "We are so glad you came to visit us, how long have your aunt and uncle lived here?"  Roger asked as he put an arm around me.

The spontaneous little boy thought, "Uhm, they've lived here for about twenty years." He replied.

"Look Tommy, a baby!"  The girl whispered in his brother's ear. "I had already seen that." The boy smiled.  "This is our Benjamin, he is two months old." I said as I held up sleeping Benjamin.

The children left our house, we were so grateful for their visit. These are kids I love, they were so polite. I had secretly promised them when Benjamin is grown, that the dear neighbor children can walk with them in the stroller.

Roger yawned and could barely keep his eyes open.  "Are you tired, honey?"  I asked as I laid Benjamin in his crib.  Roger rubbed his eyes, "Yeah, I've been working on our house all night, I didn't sleep a wink."

I looked at the clock, "It's almost six o'clock." I said. Roger nodded and bit his nails, "That's right." Roger sighed while rubbing his eyes.

"Well, sit down. I'm going to make dinner." I said as I laid Benjamin in his crib. Roger sat down on the leather chair with a blanket, he went to watch television.

While I was cutting the vegetables, I accidentally cut my finger. "Ouch!" I yelled out.

"Are you okay, honey? What happened?" Roger asked from the living room. "Yeah love, I'm fine. I just accidentally cut my finger and it bleeds a lot!" I answered. Roger rose from his chair and walked to the kitchen.

"God jesus, Antonia, there's a whole chunk out of your finger now."  Roger said, putting his hand over his mouth.  I smiled, "It's okay." I sighed. Roger took the knife, "No baby, I'll take over. I'm going to cook dinner, sit on the couch."

I rolled the plaster over my finger.  "Does it hurt?" Roger asked as he took a spatula from the drawer. "Very bad, gosh." I said with squinted eyes.

Roger laughed at me defiantly, I then slapped him in the ass. "Hey, no offense, sorry sweetie, you get an extra piece of sausage, okay?" Roger said with a sad face. I looked at him defiantly, "Whatever you want, you fool."

I went to sit at the table and took Benjamin in my arms, but that didn't go well. Benjamin no longer accepts a bottle these days. I discussed with the pediatrician that breastfeeding might be a good option after all.

Benjamin lay on my lap drinking at my breast, "How jealous I am of that boy."  Roger said as he looked at Benjamin with a broad smile. "Don't you have work to do? I'm hungry." I laughed.  Roger gave me a wink and returned with plates of potatoes and vegetables and a piece of sausage.

Roger rubbed his hands and licked his lips. "Well, enjoy your meal!" Roger said with his mouth full of food. I nodded and looked at Roger, what was wrong with him? Where does he get that humor from?

When Benjamin had finished drinking milk from my good breast, I had put him in his bed. He was already trying to pull himself up, soon he will be able to sit in a chair himself.

My little baby boy grew up so fast, why did time have to go so fast?

Roger went to do the dishes and I put my little baby boy in his familiar bed. It really was bedtime for my little angel.

I gave him a kiss, "Sleep tight, little boy."  I whispered as I turned on the music mobile. A soft cute song came out.  Benjamin just looked at the rotating stuffed animals that were on it. He immediately fell asleep.

I walked to the bedroom, Roger was already in bed with his eyes closed. I expected he was still in the kitchen.

I took off my clothes and lay close to Roger. He was already sleeping deeply.  I rubbed his soft cheeks. "Don't leave me, Antonia." Roger said in a sleepy voice.

"I won't dare to do that." I said laughingly. Roger snorted a little and turned in his sleep to the right side of the bed.

His golden blond shiny hair sticks out as he lay on his stomach. My dear big lion, good night!
