             20 October, 1973.

It was early in the morning, I felt a hand caress my face. "Wake up, sweetie." Someone whispered.  Everything was still fuzzy and blurry.

It was Roger, holding a tray of tea and biscuits in his right hand. "Good morning." I yawned. Roger chuckled, "Good morning princess, how are you feeling today? Better?" Roger asked.  I sat straight up in bed, "Yeah, I really do feel a lot better now, what about you, are you still nauseous and have a headache?" I asked while rubbing my eyes.
"Much better sweetie, look, I've prepared a little breakfast for you."  Roger put the tray in front of my hands.

"You did that so cute." I whispered, I was so excited. Roger smiled proudly.  "I'll get Benjamin out of bed, lie down sweetheart, and enjoy your breakfast."  Roger said, he left the bedroom.

We all felt a little better. But last night Roger and I got out of bed three times to throw up. Other than that, we feel fine now. Better than yesterday I'll put it this way.

Roger walked into the bedroom with Benjamin in his arms. "Good morning pumpkin." I said as I took Benjamin in my arms. "How's your breakfast honey?" Roger asked as he took off his pajamas. "Very nice sweetie, so sweet of you." I answered.

"I'm going to take a shower sweetie." Roger said, he bent over and kissed my mouth.

I finish my tea and put the tray on my bedside table.  Benjamin chatted a little and wanted to play.  "Where's your cuddly toy gone, Bennie?"  I looked around every corner where Benjamin's birth giraffe  was.

Benjamin sucked on his finger and looked at me with big shining eyes.  "Mama may know where he is." I got out of bed and walked to Benjamin's bedroom, I squatted down and looked under his crib. Ah there he was, his little giraffe stuffed toy!

I gave the stuffed toy to Benjamin and he immediately hugged it. "Come on honey, let's get dressed." I said as I put Benjamin on his changing mat.  I put on a yellow and white striped jumpsuit.

"Look, all dressed up." I smiled.  Benjamin clapped his hands and then sucked on his finger again.

I picked up little Benjamin and carried him to our bedroom, I put him on our big bed for him to play on. I put on my black pants and my white sweater, it was very cold outside.

Roger came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist. "That was a lovely shower." Roger sighed.

"Do you still have a cold?" I asked Roger. Roger shrugged and towel-dried his hair. "A little, my throat still stings."  said Roger. I nodded, "At least I don't anymore."

"What do you want to do today, now that we're finally feeling a little better?" Roger asked, putting on his underpants and his socks. "I'd like to go for a walk if it stays dry." I said. Roger nodded, "According to the weather forecast it won't rain until tonight."  Roger said as he brushed his hair.

"I'm looking forward to the cold winter." I sighed. Roger laughed, "I hope there will be a lot of snow this year." Roger replied.

Roger pulled on his pants and his sweater. "So dear, this daddy is hungry." Roger scratched his hair and walked downstairs with a cheerful look.

I walked downstairs with Benjamin in my hands. "Look what Freddie took yesterday." Roger said while holding a plate of fresh tasty loaves of bread.

"That looks delicious!" I licked my lips because I was a bit hungry. Roger put the plates of bread on the table, "Sit down, dear ones." Roger said, sliding the chair back to sit.

I put Benjamin in his dinner high chair and gave him a bottle of milk, he was stable enough to hold the bottle itself.

"How come we got better so quickly?" I asked Roger with a raised eyebrow, Roger shrugged.  "We were lucky, I almost died yesterday. It was just hell."

I took a sip of my water, "We're always lucky." I smiled. Roger took my hand and stroked it.  "I'm especially happy when I have you with me." Roger started flirting over breakfast.  Benjamin made gibberish noises, "Look Rog, Benjamin wants you to hold his hand too." I laughed.

Roger held out his hand, Benjamin immediately grabbed Roger's hand.  "Our big boy." Roger grinned. "So cute, look how he looks at you." I could hardly handle this moment, it was so unbelievably sweet.

The three of us had a delicious breakfast at our large table, but the fun was interrupted by a phone call. "I'll go, sit down sweetie." Roger pushed the chair back and walked over to the phone.

I sat alone at the table with Benjamin, he had already emptied his bottle of milk. "Would you like a piece of bread?" I broke off a small piece of bread and put it in his mouth. Benjamin started making "Mmmh" noises so that meant he wanted another piece.

Roger came back, he slid back to the table. "It was the dentist." Roger said as he put cheese on his bread. "The dentist?" I got confused, since when do they call so early?

"Yes, they have arranged an appointment for us next week." Roger said as he took a sip of his chocolate milk. "That was quite a while ago when we were last there." I said.  Roger nodded, "January was the last time, right?" Roger asked. I nodded, "That's right!"

It started to rain hard. I looked out the window with a gloomy face. "Rain again?" I sighed. "The news story wasn't even right!" Roger did a palm face.

》The rest of the boring day, we sat on the couch and did nothing at all.  We had fully recovered from our terrible flu that never ended. Next week Roger and I had a dentist appointment and then we get our teeth cleaned.《

• I hope to see you again in the next part. Again, my apologies that the parts are very short these days. Stay tuned fruitcakes! ☆
