January 14, 1973.

Early in the morning I got bad pain in my lower abdomen again. Roger walked into the bathroom with a ponytail in his hair. "What are you up early?" Roger asked, amazed.

"My abdomen, I'll go to the doctor this afternoon." I said calmly. Roger felt on my stomach. "You shouldn't go to the doctor, but to the hospital." He said with raised eyebrows.

I nodded and sighed. "Are you worried?" Roger asked. I shook my head. "Maybe a little." Roger put his arm around me. "Don't worry, we'll get the answer this afternoon."

Afternoon, 1:16 pm

"Ready to go?" Roger asked. I nodded and picked up my bag. "Sure, it'll be okay."

We had arrived at the hospital. We were directed to the seats in the waiting room. Roger took my hand and stroked it.  "What a warm hand, do you have a fever?" Roger asked with diamond eyes.  "My body temperature was 38 degrees this morning." I said.

"Antonia T, you can get further with me. " We walked into the office where there was a sofa and a chair. "Good afternoon, my name is Dr. Smith. Take a seat."

I sat in the chair behind the desk with Roger. "What's wrong?" Dr. Smith asked. "I've had weird feelings in my gut since December." I told with sweat on my head. "Do you have a fever?"  The doctor asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "My body temperature was 38 degrees this morning."

"Come on, lie down on the couch. I'll look through your stomach with a special camera. I want to try an ultrasound with you to see what's wrong in your stomach." Said Doctor Smith. I nodded and lay down on the doctor's couch with my sweater up.  The doctor looked at my abdomen through the camera.

She was shocked.  "Apologies Mrs. Taylor, but you are very pregnant!" She said with her hand over her mouth. I was shocked like lightning. "Pregnant?"  I felt the tears rise. Roger took my scarf off his neck and couldn't believe his ears.

"You are 15 weeks pregnant, look at the screen. Do you see the little baby?" The doctor pointed with her finger where the baby was exactly. I looked at Roger, he was about to launch. He was so happy!

"Then we had a child!" I started to cry.  Roger began to grip my hand tightly. "I told you!" Roger sobbed. "I am incredibly happy for the two of you, then you can visit the midwife every week on Monday." Dr. Smith told.

"Thank you very much!" I thank Dr. Smith with a big smile. Dr. Smith shook my hand. "You're welcome, hopefully he will be a healthy child!"

Roger put his arm around me. "I'm pregnant, Roger. I'm pregnant!"  I jumped. Roger wiped a tear.  "Then we got a gift from someone special."  Roger said as he dried his tear with his sleeve.  "From who?" I asked amazed. "My grandmother.." Roger said with a big smile.  "You're right Roger, she thought I'm leaving and I will return a healthy child." I told. Roger grabbed me. "You explained that well, honey!" Roger said.

"When I get home, I'll be the first to call Freddie Brian and Deaky!" Roger said when he started the car's engine. "I wonder how they react, you will now unexpectedly become a father!" I laugh.

             .......

We were back home. The first thing I did is lie on the couch as the doctor's advice. Roger was at the phone, dialing the numbers. The phone rang and Roger was waiting, he was so excited.

Roger: Freddie...

Freddie: What's the matter darling?

Roger:  am going to be a father, Antonia is pregnant!
