Left alone at your post, you take a chance to snoop around. 'Maybe they have some booze hiding around... or maybe a patron left something valuable behind...' You're disappointed to find no alcohol or valuables around. You resign yourself to your sobriety and pour yourself a sad, virgin ginger ale from the tap. The guys abandoned you a few hours ago, and as expected, there were no customers. You go between lounging at the bar and going through the binder. You're able to pick up a few small details about Azul and the twins through their notes on their classmates. You learn Azul is in the board game club and that Floyd has nicknames for everyone. But, unsurprisingly, nothing major was revealed to you. By the time you take a break from your reading and check the time, you see it's already past closing time. 'Guess I have to lock up. Man, I don't feel like walking home. Wonder if they'll even notice if I sleep here.' You decide to risk it and change back into your clothes from home. You drape your massive coat over yourself as a makeshift blanket and pass out cold.
When you wake up the next day, you're still alone. You check your phone. Your only text is from Azul.
Azul: How did your first night go?
Y/n: Fine. No one showed up. Do I really have to be here?
Azul: We need someone around just in case. Good luck!
You resist the urge to throw your phone at the wall. Getting up, you realize your mistake in staying here overnight. 'Fuck, I don't have a toothbrush or toothpaste...' You remember they keep mints at the bar and go to grab some when two guys dressed like Azul and the twins enter.
"Hello? Y/n? Azul asked us to assist you," one of them calls.
'Great, more people I don't know.' You go to greet the two, covered by nothing but your tiny clothes. The boys blush slightly but keep a professional face. "Uh, hi. I thought everyone was on break."
"Our hometown is too cold to return to, so we stayed here. Same reason as the prefect and Jade and Floyd," your coworker unintentionally tips you off to the reason those three are around. You realize you can pry some info from them, but first...
"Say, can I borrow some toothpaste by any chance?"You rinse your mouth and wash the toothpaste off your finger, which you used as a substitute toothbrush. The bathrooms in Octavinelle are beautiful and pristine. You check yourself in the mirror, combing your fingers through your hair and hiking up your bra. 'Looking pretty presentable for an unprepared idiot!' You're satisfied with your appearance and rejoin the two guys waiting outside for you. "Thanks for that. Anyways, I'm not quite sure I need any help. There's no one here. Actually, while I'm saying that, why can't Azul have you take over? You live here, I'm hours away."
"He told us he wanted you to get acquainted with the place before the students return," the kid gives you some of Azul's airtight logic.
"Well, if he's gonna keep me here, I want some dirt. Tell me what you know about the dude."Your coworkers give you bits of basic info on Azul, Jade, and Floyd as you walk back to the restaurant. It's obvious to you that they're being somewhat tight lipped, and you figure you'll have to get the juicier info from people who aren't bound to Azul. In the meantime, you'll have to get to know these coworkers who were sprung on you. Over the next week or so, they tell you about themselves and the school, and you tell them small details about yourself. Nothing serious, just things like what music you like or your birthday. When the day finally comes that Azul and the twins return, they look more tired than any student on break should.
"What happened to you guys?" And, for the first time, you get a lesson in exactly what magic is.
