We're a little dramatic but that's okay
—————————————————————-One of the guys you were spying on made a hasty exit. You weren't sure if he didn't spot you or if he just pretended not to notice. You overheard him mention that Vil guy you ran into that one time. When you're satisfied that he's out of hearing range, you walk over to Epel in the hall of mirrors. You're somewhat acquainted with him from his visits to the lounge. He was a polite customer, and one of the few who didn't seem to look at you as an object of their fantasies. While the only customers to outright disrespect you were those guys from the groping incident, and the rest were actually quite friendly and likable, you always knew the vast majority viewed you as eye candy. It was fine, it was the whole reason Azul hired you even, but it was nice when the occasional guy like Epel just saw you as a regular person.
"Epel, I need your help," you tell him, stopping him when he was about to run after the other guy.
"Y/n! Ah, you wanna save Azul, don't ya?" He clears his throat, getting rid of his country accent.
"Yeah, but I don't know anything about that guy you were just talking to. You look like you're already determined to go with him. You gotta bring me too," you beg. He simply nods. You didn't expect him to agree so easily.
"There's a good chance we'll do nothing but get in his way," Epel reminds you. You're about to open your mouth when he keeps going. "But I don't think you can just sit around here while Azul is in trouble, can you?" You nod.
"No, I need to get him back. I'm willing to do anything to bring him home safely," Epel smiles at the look in your eyes, your conviction made of pure steel.
"Then let's go find Rook-senpai!"The search for Rook took longer than you would've liked, and by the time you finally found him, it was already dark out. Epel had taken you up in the air on his broom. It was only the second time you had been flying, and the first time on a narrow broom. Kalim's carpet felt much more secure than this, but this was a little more thrilling. Still, you couldn't really pay attention to anything about the flight through your nerves. You could only wonder if Azul was okay, if you would ever see him again and how much you regretted not telling him how you feel while you had the chance. Fuck, if you get him back, all your ridiculous plans for waiting would go right out the window. You were telling him immediately when you see him. That got your stomach in even more of a knot.
You had begun losing hope that you would find Rook in time. Fortunately, Epel came through for you.
"We found you! Now freeze!" Epel shouts at Rook.
"What in the world are you two doing here?" Rook asks, somewhat surprised to see Epel and very surprised to see the famous Mostro Lounge waitress with him.
"Did you expect us NOT to follow you!?" Epel yells. He and Rook get into it, Rook trying to get you to turn back and Epel casting random spells to get Rook to slow down. His control of the broom is pretty erratic while he casts the spells, almost sending you to the ground far below several times.
"Epel! You're gonna fucking kill me! Calm your ass down!" The irony isn't lost on you, asking someone else to calm down after today. He keeps shooting at Rook despite your protests.
"I submit! Let's just get ourselves down to solid ground," Rook pleads, swearing not to send you two home.
"Fuck me..." you groan. Today isn't your day.The three of you land in a wooded area by a lake. You flop on the ground, thankful to feel solid land again. Epel complains about the cold and Rook starts a fire. It makes you realize how inappropriate your outfit is for this excursion. Between your spaghetti straps, low neckline, and the slit going up to your just below your waist, you have no coverage in the cold. The fabric isn't the lightest, and the chance of you tripping over the skirt was high.
Rook and Epel have some long winded conversation you don't really care about. Something about resolve and heart and having to save Vil or whatever. At some point Rook hands you a cup of tea. You think you drink it, you don't really process what you're actually doing. Your mind is stuck firmly on Azul. On his perfectly styled purple hair and the mole by his lip. How his glasses frame his face and how handsome he is in his dorm uniform. How entrancingly beautiful he was in his true form, like nothing you had ever seen before. How last night might have been the only time you got to see him like that unless you got him back.
"Let us travel together, Epel-kun. Y/n-san, too," Rooks words finally snap you out of it. He agreed to take you. That was all you needed to hear. "However, you must agree to follow my instructions. Are we understood?"
"YEAH!!" Epel shouts. You give a small nod. You hated listening to rules, but you hated worrying about Azul more.
"One problem, though..." you add. "I'm completely not dressed for this mission. I don't really wanna delay this, but could one of you fly me back to my apartment quickly? I'll be in and out in five minutes," you request. They're about to respond when Rook hushes you.
"Shh, everyone. I hear a beast about. It's close by..." Rook whispers. Epel looks around, embarrassed.
"Sorry, that was just, um... my stomach growling," Epel blushes. Rook lets out a light laugh.
"I have cooking materials with me. Perhaps you should take Mademoiselle y/n to her apartment while I prepare dinner?" Rook suggests. You and Epel agree to the solution and speed off, unwilling to delay this mission any further.
