2 DAYS UNTIL THE SUICIDE

Calum's P.O.V.

I'm tired. I'm just tired of being here, in this fucked up world where nobody cares about anybody's feelings. I want to end this all, so bad, but I know I can't. I can't let her down.

I miss her so much. I screwed it up before anything could even happen.

I started walking to class trying to avoid Evelyn. I wanted to tell her I liked her yesterday but the way she kept pressuring me made me...angry? If that's even the feeling. I don't know. It all happened so fast.

I decided that I was going to tell her today for sure, but I can't stop procrastinating.

"Calum! Bro, where have you been?" Luke calls as Ashton, and Michael follow him towards me. "You don't fuck with us now?" They all laugh around me while I just laugh nervously.

"Just this girl." They're eyes get wide almost immediately. "But don't worry, weekends are always for the boys ."

"Doesn' t seem like it." Michael mumbles and looks down. He has always been the soft one in the group. Something about his mom's death fucked him up. "Anyways, who's the 'someone new'?"

"A girl." I might as well tell them now before they find out another way. The boys can be possessive about information like that. "Evelyn and I have been-"

"Ew, what the fuck, Calum." Ashton stares at me in disgust before I can even finish my sentence.

"You know the things she's done, man." Luke puts his hand on my shoulder but I shrug it off.

"Calum, come on-"

"Shut the fuck up. It's not that fucking deep. I choose to fucking tell you guys bullshit like that because ya'll are fucking bitches when I don't. If it was up to me, I'd be my business and my business only. I don't ask for your fucking input." They all carry the same shocked expression on their face. "Evelyn is fucking amazing. She's beautiful and caring and smart and...she'll fucking be here for me for a lifetime if she could. So, shut that shit the fuck down."

I turn to walk away but in the middle of the hall, just a few feet in front of me, is Evelyn. Her eyes are wide and her mouth is hanging open. She keeps opening her mouth like she wants to say something, but nothing comes out.

I didn't know what else to do but fill the space between us and hug her.

"Did you mean those things you said?" She mumbled into my shoulder.

I nod in response. "Don't listen to them. They fucking suck."

"Stop. Those are your friends." Her voice keeps cracking like she wants to cry.

"Stop worrying about them." I kiss the top of her head and we stay like that for a while.

If the bell hadn't have rung, I could've stayed like that for a lifetime.
