Chapter 21 - Painful search

"Come on, please pick up your phone!"

"Who are you calling?"

"Asami, she should be somewhere!"

"Korra calm down, she probably went to her office or home."

"Even if, I have to check up on her! She seemed to be really angry and it has been more than half an hour" Korra said while she looked out of the window.

"What if she went somewhere shady, or someone is following her, as she is the CEO of a well-known company?!" Korra began to overthink.

She had this weird feeling that something bad happened to her ex-girlfriend but she didn't know if what she was feeling is right or wrong. If something bad happened to Asami, Korra knew that it would be her fault, because she caused everything in the first place. She was always over-protective over Asami and would never let anything happen to her. Korra thought this might be one reason why Asami was fed up with Korra during their relationship, but it didn't stop Korra now. Korra watched the people walking around and enjoying their day. Just as she wanted to turn away from the window, Korra saw a couple holding hands and kissing at the sidewalk. The sight of the happy couple made Korra feel sad, angry and happy at the same time. It reminded her of Asami.

"I can't stand here doing nothing!" Korra said clenching her fists.

"Korra how about you just relax, Asami is a grown woman who can take care of herself" Bolin said trying to reassure Korra, who was still looking out of the window with clenched fists.

"I don't care if she is a grown woman, I will go search for her!"

"Korra, shouldn't you give her some space, especially because of what happened just now?"

"I said I don't care! I am a police officer who still has a mission to accomplish and my mission is to find her and make sure she is safe!" Korra exclaimed

"Korra don't make it worse than it already is."

"It is my decision and none of your business!" Korra yelled with a rather threatening expression on her face.

Bolin and Opal were taken aback. They never saw her that angry, which made them quiet scared. They decided not to intervene and let Korra do what she wants to do.

Korra saw how shocked both of them looked and she felt sorry for scaring her friends like that. But she felt like she had to, so she can search for Asami in peace without them interrupting her. She quickly ran out of the door and ran towards Asami's office.

"Why do I have this feeling that something bad happened to her? Am I just overreacting?" Korra thought to herself while sprinting to the Future Industries building.

It took her a while to get there. She quickly entered the building and saw Zhu Li, Asami's assistant, walking towards her.

"How dare you just show up here after destroying my car as if it was nothing!" Zhu Li exclaimed with an angry expression on her face.

"Besides, Asami doesn't want you to be here, so you should leave right now" the assistant states pointing at the exit.

"Where is Asami?" Korra asked, ignoring Zhu Li's order to leave the building.

"It is none of your business where she is."

"It is my business! I need to know where she is."

"I am saying this for the last time, leave the building right now."

Korra thought about it, should she just leave or run past Zhu Li to Asami's office?

"Alright, I will leave. Greet her from me."
