Catch your ex-girlfriend if you can

Chapter 18 - Therapy

While Asami and her assistant were escaping again, Korra pushed her car to the side of the road and decided to sleep in her car, because walking back to her hotel would take too long.

She is really frustrated about Asami escaping again. Everytime Asami escapes, it feels like Asami is breaking up with Korra all over again, like she did back then. She doesn't like to remember that moment, but she can't stop the memories flooding her mind and she can't stop the tears.

She feels bad for treating Asami like that, but she can't risk losing her job just because she doesn't want to arrest her ex-girlfriend, whom she is still in love with. Korra knows that it is mostly her fault that their relationship crumbled and she regrets it. It has been nearly a year where Korra didn't see Asami before she saw her and Kuvira kissing. But in that time Korra really tried to cope with her jealousy and issues and she maybe starts to believe that Asami is and was always telling the truth.

She wonders if Asami still has feelings for her or if she already has moved on. She wants to try again and she can only hope that Asami feels the same and forgives her for everything.

"I am so sorry for everything" Korra whispers and starts to cry more. She notices Asami's notebook lying on the floor in her car, so she decides to look through all of the pages out of boredom and sadness. It's funny how the CEO keeps forgetting about her notebook,  but it seems like escaping is more important to her. She only finds more client's informations when she suddenly turns to the last page. There is a non see through little folder that is sealed. She thinks about opening it and questions what the conent of this folder could be. Asami would probably be very mad, but she opens it anyway.

Her eyes go wide when she sees the content of the thin folder.

"What....?" Korra whispers with wide eyes as she looks through the content of the folder.

The next morning arrives and Asami decides to finally return to her office in the Future Industries building. However, she doesn't want anyone to know that she is in Republic City, so the assistant and the CEO get into Zhu Li's car and drive off.

"It feels kind of illegal to be here in Republic City" Asami says and looks out of the car window.

"Why? Because the police is searching for you?"

"Yes, what if they catch me?"

"They won't and even if, it is better than being arrested by Korra" Zhu Li replies and smiles.

Asami decides not to respond and looks at the streets in front of them. Zhu Li stops her car in front of a stop light when someone suddenly knocks on Asami's window.

"Hiiii Asami! How are you?" Opal asks and waves.

Asami rolls down the window and greets Opal. She really hoped that no one would notice her, but apparently Opal did.

"Wow it has been a long time, wanna hang out next week at my apartment?"

Asami doesn't know what to say. She wants to stay undercover, but if they meet at Opal's apartment, nobody else would be there so why shouldn't she go.

"Sure, how about you text me the details?" Asami asks.

"Sounds good, I will text you soon alright?"

"Okay, see you then!" Asami replies and waves goodbye as Zhu Li starts to drive.

"Bye!" Opal waves back and reaches for her phone to call Bolin and tell him about the meeting.

After some minutes they both arrive at the Future Industries building and use the emergency exit to enter the building. They decide to take the elevator so nobody sees them. The doors open and both of them walk over to enter Asami's office.
