Chapter 10 - Heartbreak

The next day:

Korra and Opal meet up in a big park in North Levi. There are many people and many beautiful green trees. There is even a big pond in the middle, where little ducks are swimming around. Korra isn't exactly sure why Opal decided for this place that is very far away from Republic City. The only reason she got from Opal was, so Korra would be far away from her work place so she can relax.

"So what exactly are we doing here in North Levi?" Korra asks impatiently.

"Well, I planned a nice lunch, but we have some time left, so I decided we can chill here in the park for a little while and chat" Opal says hoping Korra wouldn't ask more questions.

"Alright, what do you wanna chat about?"

"Korra I know you don't want to talk about this, but can we please talk about Asami?" Opal pleads.

Korra stiffens and doesn't know how to respond. So she just keeps looking at Opal with a questioning expression.

"What would you do if you could meet her? What would your first words be?"

Korra looks at the floor and doesn't know how to respond. This question was a unexpected. Opal immediately notices it and apologizes.

"It's fine Opal, this question was just... a little unexpected."

"So, would you like to answer?"

"Well, what would I say to her? I probably won't even get a word out of me" Korra says and laughs a little with a sad expression on her face. "And even if, Asami and I are over and we haven't seen each other for months. I don't think it will change."

Opal can't hold back her smile, but Korra doesn't notice it.

"Asaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaami!" Bolin shouts as he sees the raven haired girl approach him in front of a café in North Levi.

"Hello Bolin! Long time no see!" Asami says, walks up to him and hugs him.

"How is your business going?"

"It is going alright, nothing much changed" Asami says but tries to ignore the fact that there is a police investiagtion going on that includes her company.

"At least it is not going bad!" Bolin says with a smile.

"Yeah you're right. So, you want to go to the café?" Asami asks curiously. She just hopes that Bolin will take her mind off of everything.

"No I actually planned to go to the big park, wanna go?"

"Sure" Asami responds and follows Bolin.

Both of them are silent. Bolin and Asami have been friends for a long time, since they were in kindergarden. They enjoy each others company and it is always fun when they hang out. After a while, Bolin decides to break the silence.

"So Asami, can I ask you a question?"

"Of course you can, go ahead" Asami says thinking nothing of it.

"What do you think of Korra?" Bolin asks and looks at Asami with a expectant expression.

Asami suddenly stops walking and doesn't dare to look at Bolin.

"Why are you asking?" Asami asks with a stern voice.

"I just wanna know what you think of her."

"Bolin, I don't want to talk about her. She has done a lot of hurtful things-"

Bolins eyes widen and he notices his mistake of mentioning Korra.

"I- I am so sorry I didn't mean to-"

"It's alright, let's keep moving" Asami replies without averting her eyes from the floor.

After this little incident, Bolin reaches for his phone to text Opal.

*Ring Ring*

"Oh sorry wait a second Korra, I got a message" Opal states and picks up her phone. Her eyes go wide as she reads what her boyfriend texted her.

"Um Korra, you wanna go somewhere else? Maybe already to the restaurant and get a small bite?" Opal asks pleadingly hoping Korra would go somewhere else to avoid Asami.

"Why do you suddenly want to change your plan?"

"I got hungry sorry. Come on there is a great restaurant down the street" Opal replies and motions towards the street.

"Alright, if you say so, you planned to come here, you decide."

After walking for a little while, they arrive at the restaurant and sit down. Opal made sure to text Bolin to go somewhere else, so Korra and Asami won't meet. They decided that it is best that they don't meet at all, because both of them don't react well.

Opal and Korra stay for a little while until it is time for them to go back to Republic City. Both of them exit the restaurant and Korra faces Opal.

"I think I want to stay a little here, I want to have some kind of little vacation at least before I have to work again" Korra states and waits for Opal to respond.

"Sure, do that, I really have to go back to Republic City, I still have business to do."

Opal and Korra hug each other goodbye and with that Opal walks off. While Opal is walking off, she texts her boyfriend to make sure that Asami is gone. A few seconds later she gets the confirmation from Bolin that Asami in fact left.

Asami and Bolin hug each other goodbye and go their own way. As Asami is walking down the street, a girl is calling her name. As she turns around, she sees Kuvira coming her way with a big smile on her face.

"Hey hey hey pretty lady, what's up?" Kuvira says and looks Asami up and down.

"Ugh what do you want Kuvira?"

"Simple, you."

"Leave me alone you creep, I was never interested in you nor will I ever be" Asami hisses at Kuvira in hopes she would go away.

"Nah, you are interested, you just couldn't because you were with that loser Korra" Kuvira laughs and grabs the CEO's hand. "We finally have a chance."

Asami quickly pulls her hand back and takes a fighting stance.

"Kuvira I swear to God, leave me the fuck alone!"

In a quick motion, Kuvira takes Asami's arm and pins her against the wall behind her.

"I know you love me, just look at how you look at me!" Kuvira shouts.

Korra is still walking around the city to admire its beauty.

"It is pretty nice and clean here" she states and continues to walk. As she is about to go around a corner, she hears a scream.

"I know you love me, just look at how you look at me!"

That statement caught Korra's attention and she is curious to know what is happening. As she peeks around the corner, she sees her ex-bestfriend Kuvira pinning someone against the wall. Kuvira reaches for that person's chin with her right hand and pulls her in for a kiss.

"What the hell is Kuvira doing?" Korra asks to herself and tries to identify the person, who is pinned against the wall.

As Kuvira pulls back from the kiss, Korra's heart drops and it feels like her heart broke into million pieces.

"ASAMI?!"
