I told Elliot it was my birthday soon, and he said he would take me out for a birthday meal, which was really sweet of him.

With my past well and truly behind me, I was happy. This was my life now.

Also I think I am falling for Elliot. He is such a gentleman and with devilish good looks, he had well styled brown hair, green eyes and the most gorgeous smile I have ever seen.

I think he likes me back, because he would flirt a lot with me and I would catch him staring at me. I hope he liked me.

Over these past few days he has been more full on, asking me where I was going driving me everywhere and not leaving my side unless he really had too, I hope that is a sign he likes me not just him being an overprotective friend. I did not want to be just a friend.

Whenever I was around him, I felt happy and relaxed and when I was away from him I felt sad and a pull towards him. Is this what love feels like?

Today was my eighteenth birthday and I was very excited for the meal, as I walked into the living room where Elliot was sat, I watched him.

He seemed to tense and he sniffed the air, whizzing his head round to look at me his gaze was so intense, and his eyes seemed to go black. But I must be imagining that I thought as I continued into the kitchen. 'Happy Birthday,' he called out in a husky voice. Damn, he is sexy.

Suddenly an overwhelming pain shot through me, and I couldn't stop a cry of pain escaping my lips.

'MATE!' My wolf shouted at me inside.

I couldn't beleive it. She was my mate.

Could a wolf have a human mate? But when I sniffed her scent this morning... she smelt of, vanilla and cherries, it called to me. She smelt like a wolf.

Then an ear splitting scream of pain, ripped at my very soul. My mate. My mate was in pain.
