"Anything new?" The woman asked her friend. She had long flowing dark hair, and pale eyes. Her complexion looked ill, but she appeared to be in good health. Her aura pulsed a glowing purple.
"Yes. She's been hurled down to the midguardian realm. An accident I believe." The other woman replied. She had a warm glowing aura, and kind familiar eyes.
"Oh I know that. But nothing is an accident in her case. I meant has anything new arisen with your son."
"He wanders the palace day and night, trying to discover her location. He doesn't want to admit that he cares about her."
"Cares about her? Or cares for her?"
"I suppose you already know that too. Why do you ask questions you already know the answer to?"
"I like to toy with you occasionally my sister. Although how I had longed you stayed with us to grow your magic, instead of keeping it locked away for casual use when you married-"
"I'll have you know I passed my gifts to my son. Our magic will never die with us. I can't say the same for you-"
"You know exactly why that is sister."
The lady with the purple aura hissed. She took a breath and regained her composure, then smiled a little.
"I'll admit I admire you sister, you're never one for unkindness. But your son is quite unlike your warm nature, and has been and will be cold to the girl in the future"
"For what I said I apologise, also for my son. maybe she's what he needs."
"Maybe.."
"You already knew that too didn't you." She narrowed her eyes. The other smiled mischievously.
"Maybe.. anyhow, I can only sustain myself so long in the realm of the passed sister. I must return to the realm of the living now."
"I understand. if.. if you see Loki.. please tell him it wasn't his fault?" The woman asked.
"Of course. Until the next time Frigga."
"You too Völva." She replied.
•
"So Aria, tell us your story" Vision asked. Aria raised her eyebrows, she was still getting adjusted to living with a conscious synthezoid.
She took a pause before speaking, wondering where to start. She was sat with the rest of the avengers all spread out around the lounge eating dinner.
"Not the "open" type? I get it, me neither" Natasha said, pushing her food round the plate a little.
"No it's just.. I don't know where to start.. Well, I never knew my father, and my mother certainly didn't bother to tell me about him so I just never bothered asking. In fact my mother hated me asking about a lot of things, she would've preferred if I never speaked to her at all."
"You got a boy or girl?" Steve asked,
".. it's complicated.. I met this guy Mark a good while ago and I recently just kicked him out."
"Oh I'm sor-"
"Don't be. What we had was great at first but now he's just an asshole, kicking him out of the house didn't matter when the pub seemed to be his real home." She paused again, thinking of what to say next,
"But there's someone new,"
"Oh?" Nat smirked
"Well kinda.. he's a friend? But- ehh never mind I dont- it's nothing actually."
"If it was nothing, you wouldn't have brought it up kid" Steve smiled,
Aria smiled back and continued eating.
That night Aria was plagued with bad dreams. Frigga was there, but she was alone and cold. Then another woman came along and they began talking. There was something familiar about the woman that she couldn't quite place.
They spoke for a little while then the new woman left, Aria followed her down to a skin-like wall which she broke through using some sort of hand gesture. The woman dove through the hole, breaking through the skin-like wall and falling down towards what looked like Asgard.
She landed gracefully on a ledge hidden from the rest of Asgard. The woman paused for a second, then turned sharply to face Aria.
"Hello there"
"..Hello?"
"I'd hoped we met some other way but here you are."
".. Is this real?.."
"First time Astral Projecting? Yes it's real but you're not travelling for me are you."
"Who are you?"
The woman paused.
"My name is Völva, but you don't have much time my dear. We'll see eachother soon."
For some reason, Aria nodded as if understanding in the back of her mind. The woman smiled and drew back her hand, throwing it forward and pushing Aria backwards.
However instead of falling backwards, she floated off the ledge and towards Asgard.
Loki paced his bedroom balcony, not Odin's chambers he had recently adopted but his old bedroom. When he had entered the room earlier the room smelled different, and the wardrobe contents had certainly changed since Aria had been staying there. Loki smirked at the long flowing gowns and occasional casual asgardian attire and closed the doors of the wardrobe.
Stepping out onto the balcony, he looked out at the night sky and his eyes fell on Frigga's constellation. A pang of guilt sounded in his gut, but as much as he blamed himself, he couldn't help but smile at her stars.
He wondered if she regretted calling him her son. if after all he'd done, she couldn't help but agree with Odin that he was born for nothing more than a sign of peace between the Jotuns and the Asgardians.
These thought were interrupted suddenly by a chill running down his spine, something that hadn't happened in all his life. I suppose he didn't know why before but thinking about it now, it made sense seeing as he was a frost giant.
Still the chill happened again and he swore he saw a flash of deep brown hair flick behind him.
"Aria?" He spoke lowly to the darkness behind him. He felt a slight pressure on his right shoulder and whipped around.
As strange as he thought it was, he was looking at Aria's silhouette. However it was faded and barely visible, something no ordinary Asgardian or mortal could see. He was sure it was her. the hair was the same along with that one strand that always grew astray that he never dared let her know about when they were spending time together.
"Aria are- are you astral projecting??" He asked the silhouette.
She moved closer to him and tried to speak.
"Aria I cant hear you.. How are you doing that? There's no possible way-"
"Loki" Aria managed to yell, although to him it sounded like a whisper.
"Aria where are you, and how are you doing this." He spoke clearly and quickly, knowing this projection wouldn't last for long.
She struggled, but once again managed to yell,
"I don't know, I- - at - - venger- - poun-"
"Aria I cant hear you."
"Well may- you shouldn't - - knocked me int- the fu- -ing bifrost your- majes- -."
Loki rolled his eyes
"Okay at least I know it's you, look just tell me where you are again and we can talk about this another time."
Suddenly, Aria began to fade.
"Dammit, how did you get here Aria?"
"The- a- - woma- alled- - Völv-"
"Aria wait-" Loki called, he reached out to try and grab her hand and keep her there but alas she slipped right through his fingers.
Aria gasped and shook as she woke up suddenly from her sleep, if it was sleep that is. The important part was she saw Loki again, he seemed okay which put her mind at ease. Obviously he had won the fight with Heimdall and the threat was over. The only problem was how could she figure a way back to Loki without letting slip to the Avengers that she was meant to be in Asgard right now with their sworn enemy..
This was not going to be easy..
