Thor took Aria and Heimdall down to a dark room, they were joined shortly after by Sif, Fandral and Volstagg. Fandral winked at her as they sat down and Thor began.

"Malekith knew the aether was here he can sense its power." He said, "we must move Jane off world."

"The bifrost has been shut down and the Tesseract locked away in the vault." Sif pointed out, to which Heimdall responded

"There are other paths off Asgard. Known only to a few."

"One actually." Thor said earning a few uncomfortable glares and disbelieving looks.

"Where are we going?" Aria asked as Thor strode down the hall, she had to slightly jog to keep up,

"To collect someone." He replied

"Who?"

"You might know him through your midguardian news"

"The news is on everyday how am I supposed to-"

"Stay behind me, don't say anything." He put his hand out, preventing her from walking any farther, she rolled her eyes a little and stepped behind him.

"So you really don't know?" He asked a little awkwardly

".. what?"

"Well.. the invasion of New York, that was him."

"Wait what? Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"It's the only one we have." he said beckoning to the entrance, that's when Aria realised they were at the room with the staircase that lead down to the prison cells.

They hurried down the stairs and into the prison hall. Thor stopped in front of Loki's cell and waited.

He was standing, quite calmly in the middle of the cell, his back facing them. However upon noticing what sounded like new arrivals in the prison hall, he turned around.

"Thor. After all the this time and now you come to visit me? Why? Have you come to gloat? To mock?" He said, walking towards the edge of the cell. He turned to Aria and looked her up and down, trying to place where he knew her from.

"Loki enough. No more illusions." Thor spoke quietly. Loki paused then sighed and stepped back. the whole cell seemed to transform, like an illusion was fading. Aria recognised that magic from when Frigga created the hologram of Jane.

So it was Loki who invaded New York? And that must mean he's Frigga's other son who said Aria reminded her of..

The illusion disappeared to reveal Loki sitting against the far wall, dishevelled and weak. The furniture was overthrown, the walls stained with dirt and smudges, and the floor splattered with what Aria could only assume was blood.

"Now you see me brother." He mumbled hopelessly, as Thor stepped closer to the cell he said,
"Did she suffer?"

Aria's heart sank as she realised he was talking about Frigga. It must've been awful being in a prison cell instead of his mother's funeral.

"I did not come here to share our grief, instead I offer you the chance of a far richer sacrament." Thor said, turning away a little.

"Go on."

"I know you seek vengeance as much as I do. You help me escape Asgard and I will grant it to you, Vengeance. And afterward this cell."

Loki paused for a second then chuckled darkly
"You must be truly desperate to come to me for help, what makes you think you can trust me?"
