When Tony regained consciousness, he wasn't quite sure what was going on, just that there was an annoying sound coming from everywhere around him.

"Sir, sir!" JARVIS's voice said in his ear.

Without being entirely lucid, he said, "Alright, kill the alarm. I got it."

"That is the emergency alert triggered by the power dropping below five percent."

Snapping awake at hearing those words, Tony noticed that he was flying through the snow at night. The power failed and he fell and crashed into the ground in the middle of a forest.

Grunting from the impact, he took off his helmet as he lay on the ground catching his breath. "It's snowing, right? Where are we, upstate?"

"We are five miles outside of Rose Hills, Tennessee."

"Why ?! JARVIS! Not my idea! What are we doing here? This is thousands of miles away, I gotta get Loki, I gotta-"

Logically, he knew his husband had managed to get out of the house before it fell apart, but the slight possibility that something had happened to him twisted his stomach in knots.

"I prepared a flight plan. This was the location," JARVIS informed him.

"Who asked you? Open the suit, buddy."

"I- I think I may be malfunctioning, sir," immediately, the panic of being left in the middle of nowhere without his AI took place in his head.

"Open eject." The suit got off Tony and he sat up. "Shit, that's brisk!" He said as he started to feel the cold weather. "Maybe I'll just cozy back up for a bit."

"I actually think I need to sleep now, sir," he heard at the same time the suit lost power.

"JARVIS? Don't leave me, buddy," no response came back. "Damn, Loki's going to kill me."

"Oh, so you still have your intelligence. These last few hours I had come to think that so many blows to the head had made you an idiot." Tony turned his head so quickly his neck wanted to scream.

In front of him, sitting in the snow and breathing heavily clutching his chest, was Loki.

"Oh thank Thor!"

Crawling out of the suit, he wrapped his arms around the god, hiding his face in his neck and breathing in the familiar scent. As if it were magic, that managed to calm him down.

"Why are you here? Wait, how are you here? No, wait, are you okay? What happened in Malibu? It's all my fault, I know, but I need to know what happened because I don't remember much else after the house collapsed and- Oh my god! Dum-E, U and Butterfingers were there. My kids were there and-, " suddenly, the air had become too thick to breathe.

Loki's cold hands, which were turning blue at the fingertips, framed his face. "Listen to me, love. I found them, took them out of the water with my seiðr and hid them in a pocket dimension until we can find another place to live in. Alright? Do you hear me? They are fine, darling."

"They're fine," Tony repeated breathlessly. "They're fine. You saved them."

"Of course. They are my kids too, you know," he replied with a smirk.

He nodded. "We have to go to town, we're going to freeze out here. Or at least I'm going to. Anyway, on the way you can explain to me how you got here."

With a rope that Loki got from who knows where, Tony managed to drag the Iron Man suit while the other slowly followed him and told him his story.

"To begin with, let me tell you that if you happen to almost die again in the remainder of the year I am going to file for a divorce."
