Questions, And More Questions

Twenty questions. They were playing Twenty Questions with an eleven-year-old boy instead of investigating the Mandarin. Not that Loki had any complaints, mind you. He still felt like a truck had run over him.

"So, you're telling me you've been living alone for two months because your dad left without warning," Tony recapped, running a hand down his tired face. The god only wanted to murder someone.

The boy nodded, "It's okay though, my neighbor brings me food."

"Your neighbor? What about your grandparents?" Loki asked, more and more concerned about the child.

Harley shrugged, "Ms. Harris called them and they said they were coming, but I'm still waiting. My mom's parents are very old and I hardly remember them."

Loki could see in her husband's eyes that he was not the only one who ached for the child. The first thing they had asked him was where his mother was and he had told them that he had died when he was five.

"I already answered all your questions, you even know my favorite color, now it's my turn!"

Tony smiled, "Alright kid, shoot."

"You said he's a god, is he like Thor? Is that what you meant? Because I noticed his fingers are blue and I thought he was an alien, that would be so cool! Unless Thor is also blue and disguises himself as a human, is that possible? " He asked, scrunching his nose adorably.

Loki laughed, "Technically, Thor is an alien too, but no. He is not blue, I was adopted. I am another type of alien, one that turns blue at low temperatures."

"That's amazing! You two beat the bad guys together? Where are the other avengers? How old are you?"

"Calm down, potato kid. One question at a time, you're going to make yourself dizzy," Tony said trying not to laugh.

Loki shook his head and replied, "Every so often I help him with the bad guys, after all, Iron Man is not invincible and I am quite powerful. That is, when I do not feel like I am about to pass out from exhaustion."

Her husband looked at him alarmed and said, "Here's a plan, kid. We two are going to the city, you are going to give me a little tour and Loki is going to stay here sleeping because otherwise he will fall dead. "

"Why? What's wrong with him?"

"A short time ago he was pierced with a spear in the chest and he used too much magic, so he needs time to fully heal and recharge his godly batteries."

Harley thought about it for a few seconds and nodded. He disappeared for a few minutes and came back with a sandwich, "Here you have Mr. Loki, so you regain energy."

The hearts of both adults melted. "Thank you very much, Harley. You are a great host. Maybe you can teach Anthony a thing or two," he added teasingly.

"Hey! I am a great host."

"Whatever makes you happy, darling."

"When you said you had a watch, I was kinda hoping for something a little more than this," Tony said looking amusedly at the Ben 10 watch on his wrist.

Harley laughed, "I'm eleven! What were you expecting? Anyway, it's limited edition. When can we talk about New York?"

"Maybe never, relax about it."

Tony tried to keep the images of ships and aliens out of his mind. "What about The Avengers, can you talk about them?" asked the boy.

"I don't know, later. Hey kid, give me a little space."

They stopped walking when they reached the wreckage of the explosion site that Tony had come to investigate in the first place. "What's the official story here? What happened?"
