Of Calls And Voicemails

When Harley woke up the next day, the first thing he did was ask JARVIS a question, just to check that the AI was still there. Once he confirmed that, he ran downstairs in his pajamas just to find Loki sitting on the floor, surrounded by papers and with his StarkPhone in the center.

"Good morning, Harley," he said without even looking up.

He sighed, "That's never gonna stop being creepy. What are you doing?"

"I am going to put a spell on the phone so I can safely call Anthony without Ultron or anyone else being able to trace the signal."

"Oh, cool. Is that because Ultron managed to get through JARVIS so he could probably infiltrate any device?"

Loki smiled at him, "Very smart, Harley. Now, go have breakfast while I do this and then we call Anthony together?"

That's exactly what he did, and when he finished and returned to the living room, he found the god with green mist in his hands, doing wrist movements over the phone .

Already used to this type of situation, he knew that he didn't have to interrupt him, so he just stayed there, admiring how one of the most important people in his life worked his magic.

The Avengers were in the quinjet on their way to Africa to search for Klaue. Steve was talking quietly to Natasha, Clint was piloting, Bruce was listening to music, and Thor was sitting two seats to his right.

Between him and his brother-in-law there was an uncomfortable silence that had never been present between them before, not even when they'd just met. The others were also acting cold to him, so all he had left to do was think.

To think of all the mistakes he had made in his life, all the times he was close to death, all the times he came close to losing someone he loved. He was spiraling, he knew it, but he couldn't stop.

It was an hour into the trip that he, tired of torturing himself with negative thoughts, decided to turn on his cell phone and play some of the games that Harley had made him download. As soon as the device was turned on, the notification of a voice message appeared on the screen. More specifically, a voice message from 'L.S'.

Loki Stark.

"Dammit, I was hoping you would answer. It does not matter, just know that this line is magically hidden from Ultron."

The sound of Loki's voice caused a wave of calm to wash over him. A sigh left his lips and his eyes closed as his head leaned against the wall of the quinjet. This was just what he needed.

" Also, JARVIS showed me footage of the tower and, Norns help me, when I see that oaf I swear I am going to crush him. I cannot believe he did that to you, I-"

His lungs stopped working. JARVIS showed him? How?

" Papa, you're gonna give him a heart attack. You didn't even say hello to him, you just blurted out huge news the same way you'd do if you were talking about the weather, " said Harley's distinctive voice.

" Oh, bloody hell. This is why I hate cell phones, if the other person does not respond to you it is very hard to know the protocol of a message. How do you talk to someone that is not there? It is absurd."

"Why are you so grumpy? Your old age is showing, Pops," he said with a giggle, which made Tony laugh too just thinking of his husband's face.

"Shut it, child. Go clean the kitchen or something. Stop bothering me."

"I am not your servant."

Loki huffed, " I know, just go do something elsewhere. I need to say something to your dad."
