-2014-

The family of three was having spaghetti for dinner and talking about their day when Harley absently commented, "Today Peter and I were talking about the Avengers and we realized that if Thor is a prince and you are Thor's brother, that means you are a prince too, right? I hadn't realized that before."

Tony glanced at Loki and noticed that he had a small smile on his face. "That's true, buddy. I can't believe you just connected the dots, you've lived with us for over a year!"

"I know! I'm so disappointed in myself," he groaned.

"There, there," Loki said with a smirk. "At least you realized before you turned twenty."

"That's mean, Lokes."

Harley's eyes suddenly widened comically, "Wait, hold on. If you're a prince, does that mean we're royalty too?"

Tony had to stifle a laugh. His kid was precious. "Of course we're no- wait... I never thought about that," he looked at her husband. "Are we royalty?"

"Technically, perhaps. I am not sure, it is not like Odin wants me around or approves my life decisions, so I guess you are not Asgardian royalty. But if you consider that I am indeed the rightful prince of Jotunheim, then yes. You two can be considered royalty," he said looking down at his plate with his brows knitted contemplatively.

He knew this was a difficult subject for the god. Although he'd learned the truth years ago, Loki still had trouble accepting his true heritage, which, for Tony, was a shame. He looked pretty hot in blue.

"Jotunheim?" Harley asked confused.

Loki squirmed uncomfortably so he took one of his hands under the table and then took charge of the conversation. "Yeah kid. Rock of Ages here's part of another species. Odin just... let's say he adopted him, the whole story is way too complicated to explain."

His eyes twinkled with curiosity, "Another species? Really?"

"Yes. I am Jotun or also known as, like they say vulgarly in Asgard, a Frost Giant."

"Wow. That's awesome, do you have other powers? 'Cause I always thought aliens were green, but then we saw real aliens and that thought went down the drain, so I really don't know. You look human too, just like Uncle Thor," he said, rambling delightedly.

Tony had to smile at this. He could see Loki slowly relax, Harley's innocence and excitement slipping through his insecurities. Maybe, this was just what he needed to embrace his true self.

"Jotuns have ice powers. I- uh- Lately I have been practicing. I was able to get in touch with Mímir, who is quite close to king Laufey, and is helping me learn about myself," Loki said with a subtle blush.

He already knew about this, but hearing that his love was currently learning about his history and heritage filled him with pride. Knowing that Harley was never going to judge him on his race, Tony decided to join the conversation, "Do you wanna know a secret? Loki's skin here is actually blue. "

The kid looked at him suspiciously, "You're not kidding are you? Because that would be so mean."

"I swear on my suits."

Harley looked shyly at Loki, who was squeezing his hand a bit too tightly. "Can I see?"

They both kept their gazes until the god gave a small nod and closed his eyes, letting the blue take over his body little by little. The silver lines appeared and Tony could instantly feel the temperature change in his partner.

"So cool," Harley breathed, making them both smile.

"See? I told you you had nothing to worry about, Smurf."
