Tony was flying up to the base in his suit when he hit the forcefield. "Shit!"

Immediately, Steve's voice was heard through the comm. "Language! JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?"

"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we have taken," said the AI.

"Tyr's scepter must be here. Strucker could not mount this defense without it. At long last," Thor said loudly.

"'At long last' is lasting a little long, boys," Natasha commented as she knocked out some soldiers.

Clint added, "Yeah. I think we lost the element of surprise."

"Wait a second. No one else is gonna deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language'?" He asked, trying to contain his laughter as he remembered his husband saying the same thing when he sweared in front of Harley.

"I know. It just slipped out."

What was his life that he was now joking with Captain America instead of being irritated by his presence?

"Alright, let us check we have everything. Flour?"

"Check."

"Butter?"

"Check."

"Sugar?"

"Check."

"Eggs? Chocolate?"

"Check and check."

"Good. Now we can get started."

Pepper looked at both of them doubtfully, "Are you sure you two know what you're doing?"

"Of course," he said at the same time Harley replied, "Nope."

"This can either turn out very well or terribly wrong."

"Do not worry, Ms. Potts. I will make sure that they follow the recipe to a tee"

"Besides," he said as he tied the kid's apron. "This is just practice for when Anthony's birthday comes around."

"Yeah, if we screw it up, nothing's gonna happen," Harley told her, flashing her with his most charming smile.

"Okay. I'm going to trust you with this. I have to go now, but know that JARVIS is gonna tell me everything that happens inside this kitchen," she warned them with narrowed eyes.

The boy quickly hugged her and said, "Don't worry Aunt Pep, I'm gonna supervise Papa. I know he'ss the god of mischief and chaos, but what's the worst that can happen?"

For a second Loki stopped working upon hearing those words. He could see Pepper's eyes widen in his direction. Harley seemed not to realize what he had said, as he was already distracted bantering with the AI, which was even better, because it meant that he hadn't planned it and his subconscious really considered him to be a father figure.

Watching the boy carefully break the eggs, with his tongue poking out of his mouth and his eyebrows furrowed in concentration, Loki felt his heart flutter with happiness.

Tony had managed to infiltrate the HYDRA base. Clint was down because of an enhanced man and the others kept fighting with soldiers trying to escape.

He got out of his suit and scanned the room he was in. "Sentry mode," he walked to the computers, "Okay, JARVIS. You know I want it all. Make sure you copy Hill at HQ."

Looking at file after file, he muttered, "I know you're hiding more than files. Hey, J, give me an IR scan of the room, real quick."

After a few seconds he heard, "The wall to your left. I'm reading steel reinforcement and an air current."
