Residential Magic

The second Loki closed the door to their room, Tony collapsed into his arms, clinging to his shirt and hiding his face in the crook of his neck. His arms immediately wrapped around the smaller man and he gently stirred them until they were sitting on the bed.

Although everything within him wanted to interrogate him, the god decided to wait for him to speak on his own, knowing that Tony probably needed time to calm the subtle tremors in his body.

After a few minutes, he said, "We're all alright, love. JARVIS is fine, Harley is fine, I am too... the important question is, are you?"

"No... I don't think I am." The response was so quiet that Loki's heart cracked a little.

"That is fine. Do you want to tell me what happened to see if I can help you? I noticed a strange energy in the footage that JARVIS showed us and it worried me."

Taking a deep breath, Tony recounted the events of the last few days without even lifting his head from where it was resting on the trickster's shoulder.

A feeling of dread filled Loki when he heard about the magic the HYDRA witch wielded. He -having hundreds of years of experience and having experienced it first hand- passionately hated magic that messed with minds. To think that someone had used that disgusting ability on his Anthony made him want to go out on a murder spree.

"-and they were all dead and Steve said it was all my fault, that I could've done more to save them and then I was back in that room and I-"

"Anthony, breathe." He nodded and inhaled sharply. "Good. Now, can you let me check if there is any residue of that magic left? Because I still feel that there is something off in you."

"Yes, of course you can. I trust you, Lokes."

"Very well. Just close your eyes and try to clear your mind."

Placing a hand on his forehead, Loki looked into his lover's mind and instantly felt the violent force of that intruding magic. Releasing a train of curses he said, "Norns. Alright, there is some residual magic lingering there, so this is what we are going to do. You close your eyes and I will extract that despicable thing."

With his fingers located on Tony's temples, the god of mischief began to work and, minutes later, he managed to remove the angry little red piece of magic.

"Fuck, did I really have that in my head?" Tony asked, his face losing what little color it had.

Loki felt his eyes burn with fury as he made the blasted thing disappear. "You did. I have never encountered something so full of hatred before."

He let out a sigh and collapsed against his chest again, "We have a house full of people and all I want is fourteen hours of sleep."

"Hmn, yeah. I do not know what you were thinking when you brought your gang of idiots here. But what I do know is that I am going to have fun," he said with a mischievous smile.

"I guess it's okay, as long as you don't kill or hurt anyone too badly."

"Great!" He said at the same time that he got out of bed causing Tony to fall. "Now, let us go and see what they are doing. We left our poor child with that bunch."

The genius groaned, "I don't have the motivation or the energy to move. I think you better go alone, honey."

"That is not happening, Anthony. I am not going to deal with the spangled captain on my own."

Tony grinned, "Then I think you're gonna have to carry me all the way down."

"You are incorrigible."

Two minutes later, Loki was walking down the stairs with his childish husband on his back. "Honestly, I am a prince. This is degrading."

"Stop whining, Lokes. Princes don't whine," Tony said with a snicker.

When they reached the bottom, they found a wonderful scene. Bruce and Natasha were freshly showered, sitting on the stools in the kitchen, drinking from mugs, and looking amused at the living room, where Steve and Clint could be seen sitting on the couch. Across from them, Harley was sitting in a chair, squinting his eyes suspiciously and pointing his potato gun at them.

"JARVIS, please tell me you're filming this."

"Of course I am filming, sir. Who do you take me for?"

Loki snorted and moved over to where the other avengers were, dumping Tony in between the archer and the captain.

"Ouch! Careful you jerk. I'm old and frail."

Harley smirked at him, "I don't know if you're frail, but you're definitely old."

Tony looked at him offended, "The disrespect. I cannot handle this. Loki, sweetheart, can we return him and find a boy with better manners?"

He shook his head with a matching smirk to his son's, "Nah, too much paperwork."

"You're stuck with me, old man."

Bruce and Natasha were trying not to smile at the exchange between the little family, but the other two were gaping at them. "He really is Stark's kid."

"Uh, Loki? Can you maybe bring Thor back?" Steve asked tentatively.

He rolled his eyes and sighed, "If I must."

Taking the borrowed sling ring out of his pocket dimension and putting it on, the god reopened a portal and Thor fell to the ground with a thud. "I have been falling for thirty minutes!"

"It was actually an hour," Harley said happily.

"That is even worse!"

Loki stepped closer until he was only a foot away from his brother, "Well then, I hope you got the message. If you ever put your oaf hands on Anthony's neck, I am going to make sure to personally cut them off. Got it?"

The blonde could only nod in response and Natsha's lips twitched. "I like him."
