My Favorite Flowers Are Dandelions

As her lips

Caress my cheek,

I can't help but suck in a breath.

This was new

To me.

She was something I never thought would happen,

Just in general.

The grass itched my legs, but I couldn't care less

As her arm settled around my waist

And tugged me closer.

I leaned forward,

Then suddenly we were falling.

She collapsed on those wildflowers,

Dandelions I didn't bother uprooting from my grass,

And Her laugh reached my ears,

A wave of light and joy and beauty.

I still remember the way she plucked one out of the ground

And giving me a wink,

She blew it right into my face.

The whips caressed by my cheeks,

Just as she had before,

And the sky seemed bluer,

The grass greener,

And her face

Just a little bit redder.
