Your memory haunts me.
I see you in the shadows of my bedroom when moonlight streams in,
In the empty seat across from mine in the mornings,
In the back yard, playing with our dog.
It's not only me,
But it feels as if so.
Clad in a black dress
Tears would not dry.
It's not fair.
We only knew peace,
A calm ocean with bright suns and starlight filled nights
But we did not expect to see that shore
With jagged rocks and white sands,
Not yet.
We did not expect the wave
Larger than a tsunami
To wipe us out.
And now there is a scar sitting on my heart,
A gaping, open wound
That without you
Will not heal.
