When a wave crashes
on a distant shore,
A sailor
in the middle of the ocean
Cannot hear it's landing.
When a tree falls
in an abandoned forest,
No one will ever know what it sounds like.
When I am alone
Crushed by the stones that are my thoughts,
No one sees my pain
And the deepest seas
Hold me there
Where the waves
buck and thrash above me.
A volcanic eruption
Under the ground
Doesn't shatter the earth,
But builds new land.
An earthquake shakes a country,And no one can hear
A single building fall
In the midst of the chaos
Of an entire city crumbling.
I am alone
In this life and the next
Because no one sails next to a lone boat
When its in the middle of the sea.
Because no one hears a falling treeIn an abandoned forest
Where I lie
Beneath the broken roots.
Because no one sees my pain
No one sees my tears
They merely see the light
I force into my eyes,
Because no one wants to be near
When a volcanic eruption occurs,
And when a 7-scale earthquake ruptures the ground
People run and hide
For in the rubble
Lies my damaged heart.
