Here's My Heart

Chapter XX

Nash P.O.V.

A week had passed since Laura got shot and today was my birthday. We had moved all of our shit into Laura's dad's house. I had told her that Mike and I talked and she seemed ecstatic that we were getting along. Mike had stopped drinking when Laura left. Jeremy loves living here and having people who care for him. Laura decided to throw a party for me. She invited David, Kelly, Ezra, and Alice. She had mostly ditched the crutches but she would use them if her leg started hurting. She got a cake and everything. She even got me two gifts but she wouldn't tell me what they were. Everyone showed up and Kelly, Ezra, and Alice all went off to find Laura. David walked up to me. "So how is Laura doing?" He asked me. "She's doing okay. She's only used two of her pills. She's definately a fighter." I told him. I hadn't told anyone but David how much that had scared me. He nodded. "How's Kelly handling you and the car crash?" I asked him. The last time we had spoken, he had mentioned that Kelly acted different when the crash was brought up. "He's slowly processing what it did to me. It probably scared him." He told me. I nodded in understanding. Heremy walked up to David and they started talking. I wandered off to go find Avian. I didn't see him in the living room so I went upstairs to look for him. I went into his room and found him sobbing. "Why are you crying buddy?" I asked him. He looked up at me. "I miss my mommy. My dad told me she was dead. I don't know what that means though!" He said as he sobbed. "Okay. Can you take a few deep breaths for me? I need you to stop crying so I can talk to you." I told him. He took a few deep breaths like I instructed and stopped crying. "Well you dad didn't lie. Your mom did die. I don't know the details of how but she died. That means that she went to a nice place with lots of flowers and things that she likes. I know you miss her but she's happy there. I'm sure wherever she is, she's taking care of my sister. And she can see everything you do." I explained to him, tears welling up in my eyes. He hugged me as tight as he could and I immediately hugged him back. "How about we get some clothes on." I said. He ran over to his dresser and pulled out a red shirt with black sleeves and a pair of grey shorts. He got his clothes on and I picked him up. "Do you know what today is?" I asked him. "No." He answered. "Well today is my birthday." I told him. "Really?!" He asked me. I nodded my head and he started laughing. I carried him downstairs and everyone started singing Happy Birthday to me. I laughed and so did Avian. After everyone finished singing, Avian helped me blow out the candles. Laura started cutting the cake and handing everyone pieces of it. She handed me mine and Avian's. I sat down and set Avian in my lap. She handed us both forks. We started eating the cake. It was vanilla and the frosting was cream cheese frosting. I looked at Jeremy and he laughed. "So you told her my favorite?" I said, laughing with him. He nodded. When we were finished eating, everyone started handing me gifts. The first one was from Ezra. I opened it and it was a beautiful necklace with a detailed cross. "Thank you Ezra! It's beautiful." I told her. Next was David and Kelly. I opened the gift and set it down, looking at him in disbelief. "No fucking way!" I said. All he did was smile. I pulled out a beautiful framed picture of Laura, Avian, and I. The reason why I was in disbelief is because I had given that frame to david with a picture of him, Ezra, Kelly, and Talia. "I just thought I'd return the favor." He told me. Next was Laura. She looked extremely nervous. She slid a small bag across the table. I took the tissue paper out there was a few papers in the box. I grabbed them and skimmed through them. I started to tear up. "Hey avian. These are the papers we need to be able to really be your mommy and daddy." I told him, tearing up again. He stayed silent for a moment before I realized he was crying again. "Thank you Mommy!" He said, getting out of my lap and running up to Laura. He gave her a hug and she pulled something out of her back pocket. It was a long box with a small bow on it. "I love you Logan." She told me as she handed me the gift. She sat down next to me. I opened it and opened the box. There was a pregnancy test laying on some tissue paper. There were two lines, which meant pregnant. "You're pregnant?!" I asked her, basically yelling. She flinched. "Logan, I-I'm so sor-" before she could finish her sentence I cut her off by giving her a long kiss. "Calliope, I'm happy. I'm not angry." I told her. I had tears in my eyes she stood up and I did too. I moved my chair and got on one knee. She gasped. "Laura, my Calliope, I know we haven't had an easy life, but I'm the most lucky person to date you. I never thought I could love someone. But you showed me that it was possible. I love you. Will you marry me?" By the end of my speech I was crying. "Are you fucking stupid? Yes!" She told me. I laughed and put her ring on. The ring  was silver and the gem was an Amethyst that was surrounded by sapphires. I stood up after putting it on her finger and hugged her as tightly as I could, avoiding her stomach. "We really do move fast don't we?" I asked her. She laughed and nodded. "Nothing matters when you're in love." I told her. We all went into the living room and sat down. I put on a movie and everyone watched it. We decided to just watch movies for the rest of the day. "I love you." I whispered to Laura. "I love you too." She responded. After a while, Laura fell asleep. I found myself dozing off as well. "If anyone wants to sleep here, find a place that isn't our rooms." Jeremy said. I laughed at him. I picked Laura up and gently brought her up the stairs and up to our room. I gently layed her down on the bed and took her pants off for her. I went back downstairs to say goodbye to everyone. "I'm going to go to bed. Thank you for all of the gifts. You guys can stay later if you want but I'm going to go to bed." I told them they all said goodbye to us and left. "Thank you so much for making her so happy. I haven't seen her this way in years." Mike told me. "I love her with all of my heart." I told him. I went back upstairs and into our room. I grabbed my phone and hooked it up to our speakers. I played 'Here's My Heart' by SayWeCanFly. Laura stirred but fell back asleep pretty quickly. 'So here's my heart for you if you want it. It's got a couple bruises on it.' Our speakers sang. I layed down next to her and pulled her closer to me. I fell asleep to the lyrics of our song.

A/N
I know this chapter is short but I needed a filler chapter because the next chapter is the epilogue. It's going to introduce you to the next book. That book will also have Laura and Logan and Avian and their baby. I'm very happy that I'm almost finished this story. I'm also very happy with how this is going to end. I started out with no idea of how to end this story but I've finally found it.
