a quote to simplify this entire thing ,,India was put up for sale to the USSR"

and well here's why a quote like that exists

so the Soviet union did bring India under MAJOR influence
half of our economy at that time was funded by them
and they made propaganda about the US so we wouldn't try become allies with the US
and lots of people fell for the propaganda
during that time, India had a ton of communist rules and some states were even under a communist state government
and then they funded our entire army and helped us with wining all the Indo-Pak wars
the USSR also threatened to declare war on China and the US if they joined any Indo-Pak war(but the US did almost join the 1971 war and did almost nuke us)

and so considering all of this, they had just unofficially bought India
so to put it simply
the USSR funded over 40% of India's government at that time
which meant that if Soviet wanted too, they could pull India into a debt trap by saying that India needed to pay them that money back
and so, it would be impossible for India to pay it back meaning, that India would have to sell her entire country to USSR to pay the debt
thankfully the USSR didn't debt trap us, but they did consider it. Why didn't they debt trap us into selling our entire country to them? because if they did, the US and NATO would see it as a chance to declare war on them. But we were being used by them for power and influence.

so basically, they were using us the entire time to gain more power and influence, because of the help they gave India we never realized and kept falling deeper and deeper into the trap.

when I found this out, I felt honestly betrayed after realizing their true intentions
