the details of chapter 18 are really horrific, so for the sake of this chapter this will be extremely brief
TW: some mentions of r#pe
In curtain, interview not in book a ex KGB agents said - “ IF COLD WAR WAS NOT TURNING SO COMPITATIVE , WE WOULD HAVE INDIA IN OUR CONTROL, POLITICIANS WERE SELLING INDIA’S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS AND POLICY IN MERELY THOUSAND AND FOR FEW MISSILES”.
"India was the dumbyard for the Soviet Union"
"KGB penetrated indian internal issues and was slowly making grip in indian politics"
and then at a point, there was even a part where they were considering r#ping Indian citizens.
Secret talks intercepted between CPI and someplace in Moscow by the Ind*an IB.
In 1957, Krishna Menon, Minister of Defence was friendly with the S.U., so much that in 1962 the Sovi*ts authorized a RusInt residency in New Delhi to strengthen the minister’s position. Later, he was involved in giving many def*nce d*als to Rus.
Gulzarilal Nanda the successor of Neh*u and Sha*tri were never in contact with the RussInt, but RusInt supported them because they didn’t want Mor*rji Des*i to succeed Neh*u.
In 1966, after Shastri’s dem*se, Congress chose I.G. as his successor; she was codenamed VANO by RusInt.
During her appearances in Parliament, she seemed incomp*tent and unable to th*nk on her own.
RusInt claimed that the 1967 elections were influ*nced by them, and they had in control over 40% of the new Parl*ament.
In 1969, CPI gave its support to I.G., of course on the orders.
When Con*ress split into two :
Con*ress A - supporting the Synd*cate
Con*ress B - supporting I.G.
The synd*cate came open on I.G.’s intent*ons on sell*ng Ind*a to the S.U. being in contact with them through her secr*tary.
During the 1970s, RusInt’s largest presence in the world was in Ind*a after their place of origin (Sov*et). There were no limits put by Ind*ra G*ndhi on the number of Sov*et officials and diplomats in Ind*a.
By 1973, RusInt had sources in every part of the Ind*an govt., fore*gn min*st*y, def*nce m*n*stry, inte**igence ag*nc*es and even the pol*ce. A RusInt agent turned down a min*ster who wanted to provide information for $50,000, as RusInt already had connections in the min*stries. To them, it looked like the entire cou*try was for s*le.
RusInt thought they were more successful than the AmrInt in explo*ting the c*rrupts under I.G.’s rule.
Bags of mon*y were taken to the PM house as a rout*ne and never returned. A gift on 20 lakh rupees was personally delivered by the head of RusInt’s Pol*tical Inte**igence in Ind*a.
Rajeshwar Rao, the Gen. Secretary of CPI from 1964 to 1990 provided receipts for the funds received.
Till 1973, almost 10 Ind*an Newspap*rs were on the payr*ll of RusInt, they had plant*d more than 17000+ articles till 1975, that’s 1000’s of articles every year.
After the 1971 election victory of Ind*ra, a secr*t fu*d of 25 lakh rubl*s was formed to support act*ve op*ration in Ind*a for the next 4 years.
(thisvpart is from a person who has read the chapter 18 from the actual book and wrote it online)
