That night in Monaco

Chapter 16

"She had faith now."

I woke up feeling something heavy on my stomach. I turned and saw Charles' head there. He was so adorable. He was still sleeping peacefully and I didn't move, not wanting to wake him up. I wished I could see that every day for the rest of my life. It was the greatest way to start your day. I stayed there admiring him and then I started playing with his hair. 

After a moment, he woke up and sat up to look at me. "Good morning Anna." he said with a sleepy voice. "Good morning Charles." I replied. "What time is it?" I asked as I had to return to George. I didn't know what he could do if I didn't return. "It is 8:30. Why?" "Because George told me yesterday to return at 9 o'clock, so I have to go soon." "Anna, please stay. Let me drive us to the circuit and from there you will find him. What do you think?"  "You know Charles I  would have to deny it but I won't . I don't care if he will wait for me or not. This is my life and I want to spend this morning with the person I truly care about." 

"Oh Anna, come here." he said and pulled me into a hug. "Charles, I love when you are holding me. I feel so secure and it is also my favourite place." "I love it as well. Now what would you say if we stayed like this a little more and then we went to eat breakfast and got ready?" "I would love that, Charles."  We stayed there for half an hour and then we got up and got ready. I wore a pair of leggings and a plain white T-shirt. I didn't want to wear makeup today so I just pulled my hair up into a ponytail. Charles, on the other hand, wore a pair of jeans and his Ferrari T-shirt which I truly liked. Red suit him so much.

"Are you ready, Anna?" "Yes, let's go."  I said and we headed to the bouffe. I chose to eat two slices of bread with butter and honey. Charles ate two croissants and of course we both drank a glass of orange juice. "Anna when we arrive at the circuit, I would have to go to the pits. Unfortunately I would have to leave you alone. Do you think you can manage?" "Yes Charles. I would go find George and then take my seat. However, would you be able to meet me after the race because I want to say goodbye to you?" "Of course. Come and find me where you did yesterday. I will be there."  "Ok Charles."

We continued eating without talking and then we got to the room in order to take our things. After ten minutes, were both ready and Charles started driving. "Anna, I am thinking of coming to Greece the weekend of your wedding if you don't mind." "Why would you do that Charles?" "I told you, I will be there for you. I don't want you to go through this alone." "Oh my God Charles. You are the best person I have ever met. Thank you so much. I would love it if you were there with me. You would make the whole situation a little better." "I know, that's why I will do it. I also want to come to your wedding as well." "If you don't mind then I agree." "It is settled then." "Yes it is."

Knowing that Charles would be at my wedding made me feel incredible. I wouldn't be alone in this madness. I could finally see something positive even if it was for a while. We arrived at the circuit and I went to find George. However, as I was looking for my seat George called me. "Anna I called to inform you that I am in Greece. After I realised that you weren't coming I decided to return home. I will see you tomorrow."  he said and ended the call. I was at a loss for words. I couldn't believe it. Even though I was happy I didn't know what to do. I decided not to think about it now but after the race with Charles. I found my seat and I waited for the race to start.

"She could only wait for Charles."
