Anna

"She could finally be with him."

Charles left an hour ago and I layed on the hospital bed thinking what had happened. We got into a car accident. I barely remembered that moment. Every memory I had was a blur but I remembered one thing. Before everything turned black I was thinking about Charles. How he must have felt those days, I couldn't even imagine.

However, George was dead. I couldn't say that I was sad about it. I hated him but I didn't want him to die. But now I could finally be with Charles and if my dad dared to say anything I would do anything in my power to be with Charles. We both deserved this. To be happy together.

After two hours I fell asleep as soon as the doctor finished with my check-up. He informed me that I was doing great and as he had said earlier I could leave in two days. I was so happy about that. Charles had suggested that I go on vacation with him. I really wanted this. Be somewhere with him enjoying our time together. I would probably say yes.

I woke up the following day with Charles sitting next to my bed. "What time is it?" I asked. "8 a.m." "What are you doing here so early Charles?" "I wanted to check up on you. You can't blame me for that." "Of course not. I appreciate it deeply. But I also want you to take care of yourself. Don't worry about me anymore. I am fine." " The last time you said something like that you ended up here." "Oh Charles. You don't know how much I love you." "I love you too Anna."

Charles had gone to bring breakfast and I just waited for him. After a couple of minutes he came back with two sandwiches. He gave me one and started eating his. "So have you thought about the vacation?" "Yes and I would love to come with you." "Beautiful. Where do you want to go" "Ahm I don't know. I would like to go to an island maybe if that's ok with you as well." "I agree. How about Santorini or Mykonos?" "I prefer Santorini because of the sunset. What do you think?" "I think it's perfect. I will arrange everything so you don't have to worry." "You are amazing Charles."

A few hours passed and Charles and I talked about everything. However there was still something that we had to discuss. George. "Charles we need to discuss something." "I think I know what you mean." "We need to tell my parents that George is dead and this time I will inform them about our relationship. I won't let my father take me away from you." "I think you should call them when you are ready. But what about George's parents?" "They died two years ago, his mother from cancer and his father from a heart attack." "Oh ok. How are you feeling about this?" "I mean physically I am fine but mentally I am trying to process things. It really helps that you are here Charles and thank you for that." "I love you Anna. I will always be there for you." "I know."

Two Days Later

Today was the day I would return to the hotel with Charles. He had slept with me yesterday night so we woke up together. At 9:30 a.m. the doctor came and he discharged me. I had no clothes with me except the hospital gown so Charles went to the hotel where me and George were staying to get my things. Soon after he returned and I got dressed. I wore a plain T-shirt and a pair of sweatpants. I put on my shoes and left.

We returned to the hotel where Charles lived and decided to take a bath. Charles helped me in case I got dizzy or something happened to me. When we finished we ate lunch and then we slept for two hours. The whole time we were laying on the bed he held me in his arms. You can't imagine how much I had missed that feeling, his arms around me protecting me from everything. They were my safe house, the place where I will always run to.

Two hours later we woke up and decided to go for a short walk around Silverstone. It was a nice place and we had lots of fun. Later in the evening we went to take George items in order to return them back to my family. Tomorrow we would be flying to Lesvos and from there three days later we would be flying to Santorini as Charles arranged. I was more than ready to face my parents and tell them everything about me and Charles. We were happy and made for each other and no-one could destroy or take it away from us anymore. I was going to fight with all I had even if it meant not talking to my father again.

"Are you ok?" Charles asked me when we returned. "Yes I am more than ok. I am happy again." "Are you sure that you want to face your family?" "Firstly I have to, secondly I am sure. I need to tell them every detail and also they have to learn about George's death." "Ok, I believe you, however if you ever feel that you want to talk to someone I am here." "I know Charles. I love you." "I love you too Anna." he said and we laid to bed after we were done with our night routine.

"Goodnight" he said. "Goodnight Charles." I said. Sleep came faster than I expected. Maybe it was because I was still recovering. But I didn't mind. I was in his arms. I could not ask for something better. I had everything I ever wanted next to me. I closed my eyes and sleep took me into a peaceful realm this time.

"She would always run to him."
