"so you're sure you're okay with him coming and everything? i know you don't really know him well and you were jealous at first and-"

"babe." tyler interrupted me. "it's fine. i'd like to meet him myself, anyways. any friend of yours is a friend of mine, you know that."

"i love you." i told him.

"i love you more." he replied.

i picked up the pot of hamburger meat and set it on the counter with the other taco ingredients. since i was having a friend over that tyler didn't yet know, i let him choose the dinner. leave it to him to choose tacos.

*ding dong*

tyler and i went to open the door. when we opened it, it revealed jesse. he smiled when the door opened.

"hi, jesse. come on in." i greeted him. tyler and i got out of the way and let jesse in.

"tyler this is jesse. jesse this is my boyfriend, tyler." i introduced the two boys.

"tyler." tyler said, holding his hand out to shake jesse's while also casually snaking his arm around my waist. my smiled at his small gesture.

"hello, i'm jesse." jesse replied.

after they shook hands, the boys stared at each other, both of them with a look on their face i didn't understand. it got awkward quickly, so i decided to speak up.

"alright, who wants tacos?" i said, cheerfully. neither of them said anything, and just followed me.

we all grabbed our plates and filled them. after that, we sat at the table.

we ate in silence and the awkward tension rose more by the second.

"so how long have you known each other again?" tyler finally spoke up. i knew he knew, but i assumed he was just starting conversation.

"about seven months now. we met on the plane." jesse replied. tyler nodded slowly.

"yeah. we've known each other for three years. an extraordinary way we met each other, wanna hear?" tyler said. i looked at tyler and raised an eyebrow. i didn't think he wanted many people knowing.

"oh uhm sure?" jesse replied.

"well, we both went to bed one night. it was her 18th birthday. and so anyways, we both dreamed that we were sitting at a table in a dark room. we talked to each other the entire night and then woke up thinking it was just a normal dream. turns out we ended up dreaming that we were in the room every night for three years and we didn't have regular dreams until we finally started talking in real life."

jesse looked at me for confirmation and i nodded. his eyes widened for a second and i looked at tyler. he had a cocky smirk and i wanted to elbow him.

"oh..well that's certainly...interesting." jesse said after a moment.

"isn't it?" tyler asked.

"so jesse have you found a job now that you're back home in columbus?" i asked, quickly changing the subject.

"yes, actually. i'm still a photographer but i just do it whenever someone needs me. i post ads and everything." jesse informed us.

"oh that's nice." i said. "i wish you luck with that."

"thank you, (y/n)." jesse smiled.

"these tacos are really good, (y/n). thanks for making them with me." tyler told me. i smiled.

"oh it's nothing." i said.

"no, he's right. they are really really good. the best i've had." jesse chimed in.

"can't be as good as taco bell or chipotle." i said. tyler shook his head.

"they beat both taco bell and chipotle." he told me. i smiled, as the boys kept showering me with compliments. i never really had that before.

after dinner, jesse helped us clean up.

"i should really get going. but thank you for having me for dinner." jesse said to us once we finished cleaning up.

"it's no problem. it was a pleasure to have you and i'm sure tyler feels the same." i replied, slightly nudging tyler.

"yeah. it was nice to meet you." tyler said, quietly, while forcing a smile. i smiled, at his attempt to play nice. i knew it was a bit awkward for him.

jesse left and tyler and i lounged on the couch, cuddling.

"see? that wasn't so bad." i said. tyler shrugged.

"i don't like how he looks at you but...you guys are just friends. after all, i'm the one you're living with." tyler replied. i didn't agree with the first thing he said, but i was glad he trusted me.

"yup. so...criminal minds?" i asked.

"baby, you read me like a book."
