two months later

trimester: 3 (week 35)

"i have a surprise for you when we get home." tyler told me. we were currently sitting on a park bench, enjoying our last few weeks without children of our own. tyler had his arm wrapped around my shoulder and i was resting my head on his shoulder.

"oh, yeah? what is it?" i asked.

"i can't tell you, silly. that's what makes it a surprise."

"touché."

we sat, enjoying each other's company for a few more minutes. i started to grow antsy, curious as to what my surprise could possibly be.

"well, what are we waiting for? let's go see the surprise." i said, pulling tyler up with me. he just chuckled.

"calm down, killer. i'm waiting for a message that notifies me the surprise is there." he told me. i pouted which only resulted in tyler kissing my cheek.

*ding*

"is that the notification?!" i asked, excitedly. tyler smiled and nodded.

"yes, it is. let's walk home." he replied. he took my hand and we began to walk back to our home.

i kept asking him what it could possibly be, but i never got it correct.

"is it..my chemical romance?" i asked. tyler laughed.

"yeah. totally." he replied sarcastically.

"ugh, well at this point i'm never gonna get it right."

"you'll never guess. that's honestly the whole point."

we walked for about ten more minutes and i played possible solutions in my head. but none of them seemed to make any sense. tyler had me stumped.

when we made it home, i rushed to the front door. i stopped abruptly, preparing myself for anything.

"what are you waiting for, gorgeous? so ahead." tyler spoke.

i opened the door and i was greeted by someone i wouldn't have expected in a million years.

jesse.

"jess!" i exclaimed, running to greet him with a huge friendly hug. (that's right. friendly. bestie vibes only.)

"(y/n), how have you been?" he asked.

"what are you doing here? you're supposed to be in new york." i asked. i turned to tyler who began to speak.

"i knew you were upset about him leaving so..i paid for him to come back down for a week." tyler told me. i hugged him tightly before returning back to jesse.

"so, how's new york been?" i asked jesse. we sat at the dining room table.

"same old same old. the model i work for is still a raging bitch but, that's spoiled rich girls for you." he replied. i giggled. jesse never really got along with the model he worked for.

"i bet. but, she pays well so that's gotta be something."

"yeah. so how are the twins?"

i had already told jesse about the accident. he wanted to rush down to see me immediately but, i told him that was unnecessary.

"they're good! only a matter of weeks left until i have them."

"excited?"

"you have no idea."

we continued talking for a while. tyler was much different than how he used to act around jesse. i realized that after everything that he and i had been through, tyler finally realized i wasn't going anywhere.

after a few hours, jesse told us he had to go. he was staying at his parents house until he went back to new york. he said we would hang out more up until he left, and i held that to him.

"bye, jesse! it was nice to see you." i said, as he drove away. he waved to us one last time before going.

"i can't believe you did that for me." i said, facing tyler.

"of course. i want the world for you, (y/n)." he told me. i leaned in and kiss him passionately.

"you know, i think i know a way to thank you for that." i said, trailing my fingers to the hems of his shirt.

"oh, yeah?"

"mhm."

tyler then scooped me up bridal style, walking us towards our bedroom.
