Pre-Lockdown

We were told at school last week that we were going to have a guest speaker today, this was not unusual for my school but I never knew who they were. It was now time to be bored out of my mind. We went to the hall for the assembly at the end of the day, right as we sat in our seats I saw who the guest speaker was; Anthony Ramos and Daveed Diggs.

I was shocked to see them here, two of the hamilcast was here, in my school. I knew that it was a small school and that they would probably be getting a lot of attention because of who they were so I made a mental note not to bother them. They both talked for an hour about theatre and music, it was actually really cool and it was one of the best things ever.

After they had talked, the students were allowed to go home or talk to and take pictures with Anthony and Daveed. I went outside and sat outside the café on the grounds, and got out my phone. My dad was always at least half an hour late to pick me up so I got comfortable on the bench. Then out of the corner of my eye, I could see Anthony come up behind me and sit down beside me.

"Um, hi?" I asked questioningly.

"Hey, you good out here, I noticed that you weren't with anyone else and I saw your Hamilton earrings," He said laughing.

"Oh, yeah. I know that it must be annoying with everyone bombarding you constantly for a photo or for you to sign something, and I just figured that I'm already a hamilfan and I can maybe live without meeting you guys properly." I replied laughing with him.

Suddenly an alert came up on my phone reading, 'Australia is now in immediate lockdown due to COVID-19, go home straight away and be sure to wear a mask. Hotels are now being used for quarantine, as there will be no one should travel outside of the state they are in or internationally.' I froze and stopped laughing, this was not good.

"Hey, you ok, what does it say?" Anthony asked me, sensing my change of mood.

"We are in an immediate lockdown, can't leave the state," I responded quietly while passing my phone to him.

Anthony went pale and quickly got his phone out to make a call. "Jazzy, hey it's me. I'm stuck here, Australia is in an immediate lockdown and I can't travel out of the state now. I have to go and find somewhere to stay with Daveed, love you so much." He left the message.

"If you guys need somewhere to stay now, I'm sure you both could stay with me and my family, we have a guest bedroom and a study which we could make into another room if you want." I offered, I knew that it would be almost impossible to find a place that quickly when you aren't from around her.

"Thank you so much, I don't even know your name yet, but you are amazing. You might want to ask your parents first, and I have to go find Daveed if you want to come." Anthony sounded less stressed but still not in his normal mood.

I nodded and quickly went onto my phone to message my parents;

(Me) This is a really weird thing to ask but, two of the Hamilton cast came to school as guest speakers and now that lockdown has started they can't get back home. Can they stay with us?

(Mum) Yeah sure, if they have nowhere else to go of course they can stay in the guest rooms! Which two of the Hamilton cast is it?

(Me) Anthony Ramos and Daveed Diggs, or Laurens/Philip and Lafayette/Jefferson

(Dad) I'll be there in 10mins, and they can definitely stay with us!

(Me) Thank you so much, I'll make sure to tell them

"My parents say you both can stay with us, also my name is Jess," I told Anthony straight away while putting my phone back into my pocket.
